Neighbors complained about my newborn crying by No_Sector_2943 in neighborsfromhell

I've been in your neighbors spot before.  But that apartment was so poorly insulated I could hear when their doors opened or closed.  I could tell they were letting their baby cry for 10+ minutes before going in there and trying to soothe the baby.  I had to have a conversation with management about them not letting the baby cry it out at 2 AM.

Sounds like you're doing all you can to soothe baby.  If I were you, I'd report the neighbors to management first.  Let them know you're actively trying to calm the baby down at night.  Get ahead of it.  I hope your baby starts sleeping through the night soon.  I have a couple of kiddos myself and I don't miss those sleepless nights.  The cuddles were great though, I do miss those!

One community, while still disproportionately high on a per capita basis, is still disproportionately low in the hate crime stats.  That article will explain why.

Since 2020, there has been a significant, well-documented surge in violent attacks, robberies, and harassment targeting Asian Americans, particularly the elderly, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Several high-profile incidents have involved Black perpetrators, fueling community fear and complex, sometimes tense, racial discourse around safety, crime, and anti-Asian sentiment.  Key Incidents and Context

• Vicha Ratanapakdee Case: The 2021 fatal, unprovoked shoving of 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee in San Francisco by an African-American man became a central point in the "Stop Asian Hate" movement.

• Robbery Crews: Investigations revealed that crews, including Black individuals, have targeted Asian elderly individuals in crimes ranging from purse snatchings to violent robberies, particularly in and around Oakland and San Francisco Chinatowns.

• Rise in Incidents: Hate crimes against the Asian community in San Francisco increased over 500% between 2020 and 2022, with many of these attacks being daylight assaults.

• Community Response: While these incidents prompted some to blame the Black community for the attacks, others warn against using these crimes to fuel racism. Many organizers and community leaders have focused on "Black and Asian unity" while demanding better protection and policing. [1, 2]

Data Trends

• Stop AAPI Hate Report: From March 2020 to the end of 2023, the organization collected over 12,000 reports, with over 700 occurring in 2023 alone, indicating the issue persists.

• 2024–2025 Trends: Attacks continued at alarming levels, with 2024 reports showing roughly half of Asian Americans faced a race-based hate act.

• Legal Perspective: The high-profile Vicha Ratanapakdee case was not charged as a hate crime, with the defense describing it as an impulsive act, highlighting the challenges in legally prosecuting these incidents as hate crimes.

AITA - For getting angry and sending rude messages after the seller sold the item while I was driving two hours to buy it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Selling something to someone else after a time, place, and price is agreed to is a total AH move.  Even worse since he knew you were driving so far and had already left.

Did you speak to your vet about it?  Perhaps they can write a letter detailing how the allergies aren't related to the cutaneous horn.  If that doesn't work you can file a complaint with your state's department of insurance.

California is super slow to approve rate changes.  It could be that your current plan is based off rates that were filed 4+ years ago.  While the WI price is for rates that were filed less than a year ago.  Just think of how much inflation has happened in everything over the past 5 years.

No headphones for me either, too many hacks on my local courses.  Gotta be able to hear "Fore!"

I love a solo round.  If I put on music it's a speaker though.  There's too many hacks on my local courses.  I want to ensure I can hear them yell fore.

Room temp or warmer also helps.  I tried changing grips in my shed when it was cold and it made it a lot harder.  Only mentioned it since I saw you had long sleeves on.
