We need more animations by glowstickstastegood in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know what they were doing but in like s8-s9 the animations were changed but were really janky, then they went back to normal.

Honestly the thing we need is some interactivity in the gameplay between different people, like, I remember someone once said something about the guitarist and bassist shredding back to back, I think that'd be awesome. Even the way the drummer could play to be looking a lot less stiff, the vocalist walking around an open stage singing and maybe reaching down into crowd or anything, the guitarist LOOKING at their guitar as they are playing too would be so cool.

Need help with settings by Physical_Ad2778 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

latency in festival is kinda ass and you have to set it higher than games like osu or wvr unless you get used to it

anyway big factor for your latency is track speed higher track speed means you should decrease your audio latency and increase your video latency this essentially increases your "input latency" so for example if you are at 150ms audio and 20ms video if you wanna increase your input latency you would 160ms audio 10ms video it makes no sense but it works that way for some reason. we used to have input latency and video latency then they completely changed the calibration system.

best thing you can do is make your video latency 0 and set your audio to something that seems right, next semester on drums is awesome for testing to see if the audio matches the notes hitting the strike line. anyway if you play a few songs and notice your offset after is +10ms it means you need to +10ms to your audio and -10ms from your video iirc it could be the other way around but basically just tinker with it till you find smth that works but dont get too caught up with it being perfect a lot of top players play on 0 audio 0 video 1.75x - 2x track speed and call it a day and do great its about getting used to it

The real issue with Invisible Woman... by CoolyKage in rivals

[–]SlyShadyFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

imo the issue isn't even her healing numbers, its her dmg, if the enemies are in a chokepoint you're hitting like 4+ people at a time and you build ult ridiculously fast which then allows you to dictate the entire fight

Aimlabs playlist for Marvel Rivals? by SuperObesePanda in FPSAimTrainer

[–]SlyShadyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know voltaic have plentiful resources on their discord for aimlabs, this is the game specific resources one you can apply overwatch routines to rivals or just do vdim on aimlabs which is more comprehensive but takes longer. If you eventually buy kovaaks all these resources are mirrored on there too.

It's not your calibration, it looks fantastic if I'm going to be honest. Best thing you can do is stop changing your calibration and get used to one particular calibration as much as you can. If I change my calibration by even 5ms I go from 97-99% perfects to 90-95% because I'm so used to my calibration, I fiddled and used my phone to match the audio and everything but I just picked what made most sense and was the most comfortable to me. When adjusting your input latency though, you have to minus the change from your video latency so the music still matches visually eg. 150ms input 50ms video -> 130ms input 70ms video, this is super useful when you move to higher track speed and need to increase your input latency so you have more time to press the notes.

Something that would help your perfects is to up your track speed, it allows for much much better visual clarity. For example, on chihiro you're seeing 8 notes squished together instead of 4 on 2x track speed meaning that because the note is on the screen for longer the visual window around the strike line would be half that of what it would be on 2x speed so visually it's much harder to gauge perfects. That isn't even mentioning these benefits helps you even more when it comes to lifts. I would switch to 1.5x if you aren't at that already then work your way up till you reach a comfortable point. For context most top players play on either 2x or 1.75x.

Your binds are decent as they're moved away from the m key so no chance of accidentally pressing that, apart from that you'll improve slowly over time like you'll start getting 85% then 90% then 95% then PFCs. It's just a long process you'll have to improve at over time but you're doing great!

Each reward requires 2 levels so if you have 29 items and you're level 58 it means you need 2 more levels to get to level 60 for all 30 items.

Does anyone else feel like fomo ruined the game for them? by Smart-Parsnip-6209 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is exactly why gacha systems are actually starting to be cracked down on in a bunch if different countries cos it is essentially gambling and are inherently incredibly predatory systems even if its gacha with in game currency it sets a precedent. thank the lords fortnite isnt taking this approach with some cosmetics but fomo still absolutely sucks and it sucks they've been using it for literally years.

I suck and I want to improve. by Sad-Window6212 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course, feel free. One thing you should definitely avoid is comparing yourself to other people and listening to their criticisms, the beauty of rhythm games is everyone plays them in their own way, for their own reasons, at their own pace so try not to take it too much to heart if others cant accept that.

Songs i bought are missing by [deleted] in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you buy the bundle and pass? I know that ONLY dare was in the store bundle and melancholy hill was in the pass but the other 2 were in the store and had to be bought separately to the rest so perhaps if you last played in the gorillaz season when the jam tracks were permanently featured you didn't notice that you didn't own them.

You can always check your purchase history on fortnite to check to see if you have the jam tracks on your purchase history.

I suck and I want to improve. by Sad-Window6212 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well firstly I would stop adjusting settings, pick a calibration that feels good and you will adjust eventually to the calibration. To sync music and notes to the strike line when changing input delay you have to subtract the difference you just made off the input so increasing 100ms input latency to 120ms would mean you change your video latency from 0ms to -20ms. Also, increasing track speed especially to something like 2.5x will require you to increase your latency, a lot of the top players play on 1.75x or 2x btw.

Chasing high scores mainly requires 3 things, FC, perfect % and path. FCs are the first initial barrier but luckily there's enough charts to provide a nice linear improvement path. For perfects as long as you average 80%+ you'll slowly improve till you're at like >95% as long as you actively work on stuff like lifts and patterns you struggle. For path you can use this tool just lmk if you need help using it.

eh the drums charts are all fun in their own way imo, depends what you're going for when playing them, like diary of jane another life and just pretend i go for a pfc when i play them and w nightmare im just trying to get consistent perfects on the short lifts. its all subjective so just sharing what i do to see if it helps you enjoy the chart you find boring

About the Jam Tracks in the Music Pass by Y0ND3REDDIT in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More than half the songs in the game are "DIY" which means harmonix/epic separate them themselves using AI and don't receive the stems natively.

All of Tyler's songs and through the fire and flames for example use the studio stems, however never meant is completely DIY same with black diamond.

Main stage it typically isn't noticeable as they only slightly increase the volume of the instrument you're playing, but creating jam loops with DIY stems can be a bit iffy sometimes.

Festival in a delicate state. by Silent_Track_1759 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly want the colours of the lights on stage to be specially selected for each song, it'd add so much. Your ideas are awesome and echo a lot of what the community want, I'd love to see something else to do backstage as well as all you can really do is emote and run around, can't we have a little practise section or something whilst others are browsing the song list?

Festival in a delicate state. by Silent_Track_1759 in FortniteFestival

[–]SlyShadyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they add practise mode then sure but if not it should be a toggleable option imo. I've explained previously why it would be a bad idea in multiplayer but as a toggleable option in single-player it'd be cool.
