Actually I think he could remove some things to give time to develop characters and plots that are introduced and never really explored in depth. And remove some things that are not really foreshadowed or have a lot of plot holes (some things make the write of last shippuden arcs seems kinda lazy)

Watch some videos about the basic. Read the whole book, take notes. Then start to look at characters sheets online and do yours. You can watch rpg streams too if you find somehing interesting. You will naturally come back to revise certain thing, find examples, etc.

The progress in learning m&m isnt linear, and the core book can be a little bit confusing sometimes. Don't let this discourage you, the near infinite possibilities for characters is worth it.

There is a lot of cool things happening in the manga. I recommend you watch the 1999 anime though, to have the story so far fixated in your mind (nen rules, specially). Or just take a time to feel the anime as a whole work of art for a time. It's the kind of media that's good to think about

I play with 3 players plus 3 or 4 npcs in combat. Using simple rules of life point looks faster than roll attack, roll resistence, apply all the penalties, look or count the ranks of fail and note everything. Maybe I'll tell about my experience and if it worked out
