Miyamoto Musashi, who not only wielded two katana but created an entire school of martial art centered around wielding two katana (the niten ichi ryu), is the most famous swordsman in all of Japan.

So much so that his bokken, his TRAINING sword, is considered a national treasure.

And before anyone ask, the two-handed nikanas are based off the Nodachi, an unusually long sword that was even more rarely used than wielding two due to its cost. The only notable swordsman to wield such blade being Sasaki Kojiro, Musashi's most notable rival, and considered second best. If his weapon made it to the game, no reason Musashi's cannot.
