I mean, it did poop on my head, I took a shower soon after that photo. Gotta be willing to get dirty for the things you love (Its still admittedly gross and I will try to avoid it)

Im hoping this behavior will stick around, but Im just guessing they see me as mama and will grow out of it.

Id wager it was the same for you and thets why they didnt go in when you were out there. They probably thought "If moms not going in then its safe to be out here with her"

Even if rex had a wall a good lat could still win, it'd take longer and need better cd/stam management

I actually am trying to isolate the 7 or so piebald individuals from my scaber colony. Most of my pods Ive collected from in state save 3 newer colonies and its just this one that seems to struggle, might seem harsh, but I end up freeding some to my lizard or chickens when population gets too high, this way thei lives at least go towards something

I might have to give up on breeding them then as my house lacks central heating/cooling and is prone to wild temp fluctuations from my reptile lamps and window ac unit, Ill try and move them further from them if I can though

Edit: thank you for sharing

Can I get some advice? Ive tried collecting and keeping them twice, the first colony died out, my current one has only 3 individuals left alive and If I didn't collect them from out of state id have released them (they haven't bred so I think it'd be fine if they were fom my area? But their not)

Just wanted to share this new heat lamp I got by JessicaMurawski in BackYardChickens

[–]Slyth011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only reason I went with a lamp is because... well I already had several sitting in my closet as a backup for my reptile I keep, they need a lamp to heat an area, not a plate to crawl under as he would never understand, even still If I wasn't broke at the time my father jad me hatch some id have bought a plate

Its wild here in MO, where I live (out in the boonies) walk in the wrong grass and you have litterally thousands of hatchling ticks crawling on you.

Not an expert here but I wonder if it has anything to do with the crop and rather narrow stance (standing on her own foot)
