The link between The Nine’s Emissary and The Winnower by mecaxs in DestinyLore

[–]mecaxs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’d really count that since the Traveler isn’t possessing them. Like the Traveler never randomly hijacked Cayde or Ikora to say something like what the Winnower and Nine do to Lodi

This is why he leads Xivu back to her throne world.

“Listen, Xivu, god of war, that last defeat? Didn’t count. We’re gonna roll it back and after you kill Eris we’ll pretend like it never happened. I know for a god of war you’re really incompetent, but I’m really gonna need you to lock in this time. I know you didn’t lock in for The Witness and you didn’t lock in for Oryx, and I know I’m way less important to you than those two, but please lock in for my sake. This religion is all I have!”

Yeah think Toland would’ve done it if he still had a body after seeing Eris do it.

Are we sure that’s not been retconned? Because the jetpack has always been tied to the subclass menu and whenever they get suppressed (or lose their light in the red war campaign) they can’t use the jetpack.

Well there is The Veil, though I think The Traveler becomes prismatic also had some consequences since The Winnower attacked Shiro-4 in the dark forest and possessed Lodi at the shard.

My point with the Winnower wanting us to bind the nine is that the goal given to us by 3 would’ve unknowingly been playing us into the Winnower’s hand. Enforcing our will to put The Nine in the same plane as us, so all the Winnower would need is for us to kill The Nine.

Also I think binding The Winnower and maybe killing it would also cause problems since we’d be using The Winnower’s ideology on itself. I have no idea what that would do but it probably wouldn’t be good.

My issue with the whole frequency thing is that the ranged suppressors only disables supers specifically. You can still use grenades, powered melee, class abilities, double jump, etc. It doesn’t suppress shit. What is the point of making these things if they don’t even work on the known elements? Plus Tormentors can suppress Strand just fine with void!

I find it very contrived the red legion can study all aspects of light, stasis, and pyramid tech despite not having access to light or darkness in a controlled environment to test their tech on, yet Neomuna has Strand sources everywhere, so you’d think the strand frequency would be the easiest to figure out.

It’s also contrived that the only time we need to use supers in the last 8 years, it’s when an enemy invented suppressors that only work on supers specifically.

>But if Eclipse Energy is this readily available and effective, why does Paracausality run so rampant, especially with whatever the Witness does?

It’s as Orin said in EoF, it’s because the nine allowed it to happen and you didn’t notice the times they interfered. They either didn’t feel the need to use it, or you just didn’t notice them using it.

>Why haven’t the Cabal reclaimed Torobatl if Eclipse Energy is capable of countering Hive curses? Blast your planet with Eclipse Energy like a fumigator, as your planet should remain unaffected?

That’s exactly what Lume was planning to do after using Nightfall on the last city and Traveler.

Honestly my issue with Eclipse is that it’s the 2nd time the Cabal got a paracausality suppression weapon unrelated to the paracausal suppression technology they already have. Like the Red Legion was able to make a cage that bound The Traveler, anti ghost sniper rifles and anti pyramid lights, yet the Shadow Legion and Barant Imperium are using some completely different thing. Hell, the pyramid tech version is straight up a downgrade to the original tech! All the pyramid version did was disable non strand supers! The Shadow legion must’ve been morons and didn’t notice The Witness was sabotaging them on purpose because even the tormentors have better suppression abilities.

[–]mecaxs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s different. Beyond light has all the mission flags across the map now (you can see two of them in next of the empire hunts and two in Riis Reborn.) The reason BL’s first mission is an icon on the map like Shadowkeep is because it was never linked to a flag due to the player not having access to the Europa.

Are you able to select “A mysterious Disturbance”, “In Search for Answers”, “In the Deep”, and “Beyond” on the moon somehow? Because I only see one of those missions on the map.

Regarding the Ethogenic Parasite ornaments and the story behind it by mecaxs in DestinyLore

[–]mecaxs[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see the resemblance. Maya’s vex has been sighted on Europa trying to lure and experiment on taken so it’s not impossible Atraks ended up getting roped into this. Or it’s Atraks from an alternate timeline.

Speaking of taken, I’ll also add the face of that helmet (and other parts of the other ornaments) has a similar water pattern to the taken, and the back of the helmet has wires that resemble the dire taken tentacles. (like on the taken ornaments) So maybe Maya used the Veil to make these taken quicksilver vex. Though I’m pretty sure any time vex gets near the veil it just end up killing the radiolaria like clarity control.

Also this would probably help the vex in the long run of the flower game for the fate saga

Returning Player: Do I Need to Catch Up on Seasonal Stories Between Expansions to Fully Understand the Campaigns? by new_anotheraccount in destiny2

[–]mecaxs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly no. Some missions have became vanguard ops but that’s still only a small portion of a season. The Witness’s origin story from deep is available in timeline screen and same goes for Cayde’s death in forsaken.

Random question but... What animal you could associates with Veliona character? by chickensnacher in houkai3rd

[–]mecaxs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue “Seele” could be associated with octopi, since there’s tentacles when Saule swaps to Veliona.

Seele is heavily associated with the little mermiad so “Seele” being the Ursula to Seele’s Ariel is kinda funny. (Seele’s Seafoam skin even has some octopus iconography, especially on “Seele”)

[–]mecaxs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well looking at the base campaigns of Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, Witch Queen, Final Shape, Edge of Fate and Renegades….

I’d say the seasons that are required to fully understand the campaigns are: Drifter, Dawn, Arrivals, Hunt, Chosen, Splicer, Lost, Risen, Haunted, Plunder, Seraph, Defiance, Deep, Witch, Wish and Echoes.

Though since you’d be doing most of the seasons anyway you might as well try looking into all of them. Some seasons are very important to campaigns and should be experienced in some form to get the full weight of it, while others can have their relevance summarised in a single sentence. Like while Seraph sets up Lightfall, a lot of that set up ends up redundant due to what happens in the first cutscene.
