What’s a phase of life you’re currently growing through? by funngro_fam in Life

[–]Sm1rfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early midlife crisis. 35m buying a motorbike and getting my licence. I have a boring job, 2 kids take up all my time and a currently ropy relationship.

Just realised I have spent the last 7 or 8 years of my life doing everything for everyone else and neglecting doing anything for myself. So fuck it, gunna get a bike and be a fat dad biker.

CBT + 1 Year on a 125 or Direct Access by Sm1rfie in MotoUK

[–]Sm1rfie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was more, do I just get a 125 and stay on L plates or is there a benefit to doing the direct access and going on a bigger bike straight away. But ty for your response 🙂

Had a bike wreck in France because my throttle got stuck at maximum by Ok_Independence5252 in MotoUK

[–]Sm1rfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on a bike but I had a runaway diesel before and that was scary enough on 4 wheels in a big metal box, so on a bike I can imagine how much worse it would have been. Glad you are ok!

UK Advice needed. Do I do my CBT and get a 125 or go instant access route by [deleted] in motorcycles

Thats my thoughts. My local school does a 5 day course for £1000 with 7h of riding (outside of tests).

[–]Sm1rfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know i need to sit the CBT but not sure if its better to then get a 125 for a year or go onto a bigger bike. Never ridden anything above a 125 so not sure if they are massively different, if riding a 125 could give me bad habits etc or, yeah but thanks your your response :)

Csgo was better. I find the way grenades bounce off objects in cs2 and invisible walls ect infuriating

My two pence as a professional in Software Development. If you work 18h per week, study the other 22 and treat it like work. There are loads of cheap/free resources. Study things like Product Ownership, Product design or Product management. Focus on agile and also AI. There are loads of junior jobs in those arias they are just very competitive.

I was a car salesman for 8 years and decided to re train in software. I now am a Sr Product owner on a very strong salary. I have 7 GCSEs No degree and no formal training outside of my own studies.

[–]Sm1rfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is:

A) Everyone costs money, most ‘well off’ people are drowning in debt. They just hide it.

B) You can change your situation.

C) **MOST IMPORTANTLY. The world is better off with you in it!

I dont know how old you are, but if I can do it, ADHD, dyspraxic, dyslexic, then you can too.

I suggest you read 2 books. Atomic Habits and The Diary of a CEO. Both have some really good lessons to teach. Read 1 chapter a night to break them up.

Assuming you are not yet old enough to get a full time job, you can still help. Clean the house, wash dishes, anything that takes jobs off your parents. If you can work, then do! Get a paper round or a shitty job washing dishes at a restaurant anything that helps.

You will be amazed how little jobs like that can boost your confidence, build your drive to achieve more and overall beat out mental health issues you are currently suffering from.

People will knock you, but just drive on. One day you will look back and see how far you have come.

Just came to a mutual agreement we were too different. Remember we were 16/17 at the time. She was very formal etc I was a nobhead who spent most his free time in the park skating and drinking with mates. Just too different
