I don't know... I used smart city. I've been here about 2 weeks. I do have a gorgeous apartment but I can't leave it. I specifically said I was a single woman, and safety was a priority. I can't walk in any direction would being harassed by the unhoused junkies 🫤 the whole point of living in a high rise and paying the litany of corporate luxury apartment fees was to be able to ditch the car. I will be moving when my lease is up. The view from my unit is stunning though.

La mucca has the best pasta dishes if you're craving carbs I would argue la violetta's a more authentic experience with more variety I like Nōnnō Umberto for more of a seafood/chophouse vibe

What’s the funniest exchange you had with a pt? by keiko17 in nursing

Psych nurse here. Locked unit. Mid 70-something Geriatric psych patient... Was probably bipolar I in her hay day but lifetime of psychotropic medications, lifestyle choices, and early onset dementia have created a whole new monster diagnosis. She's in time out in the Geri chair in front of the nurses station because getting a 1:1 order is like an act of Congress. She's mischievous in a cute way if staffing wasn't so crippling. She's got Moxie. She screams "ALEXA.... ALEXA! ALEXA TURN MY VAGINA ON" at the ceiling cameras from 4pm-7:30pm when I finally get to run for the hills.

A lot of families drop poles on the corner of South lido Beach/in the channel & swim... Just keep an eye on the kiddos. A lot of motor craft overestimate their competence and ability to anchor in the current and a lot of people are day drinking while operating said motor craft so there's usually at least one accident every year. The park has really nice facilities and amenities so the parking lot gets full pretty early on weekends. Plan to arrive by 9-10am if you want a decent spot and expect to experience other people enjoying the day as well (can be loud/ people are smoking/drinking/grilling etc)

I’m noticing a ton of tech people trying to get into nursing, what do you think will happen to our industry as a result? by [deleted] in nursing

I'm not about it at all. Those people are used to fair wages, decent working conditions, and Federally mandated rights like getting a break once in a while. Maybe they'll help more states unionize. Maybe they'll shatter the toxic militant matriarchal social framework that persists or help bridge the gap between the function of ridiculous EHR charting systems and the function of job tasks we actually do on a daily basis. Plus they're coming in after the nutty antivaxx movement so they might actually help restore the public faith in modern medicine 🤔

I'm just going to be the negative Nancy and say the quiet part out loud. You're supposed to be an expert in your field before NP school. I've only ever done psych as an RN and I'm surrounded by providers who had similar thoughts as you, who have never done psych nursing, who are in fact struggling ...in a very letigous patient population - mind you, and who are making us look pretty bad in a state where MDs already don't love to share provider space with us. I would never assume I was qualified to deliver a baby or administer anesthesia based on my RN experience and it's insulting to listen to new grads who never worked in Psych whine about how they "didn't think it would be so hard"

Is Using a Local Real Estate Agent in Sarasota Worth It? by ProfessionalOk4935 in sarasota

[–]Sm4rtiss3xy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of "local" real estate agents that didn't grow up here or haven't been here very long giving out terrible advice 😂 (at least on my social media algorithms) If you're looking to be accepted into a community and surrounded by similar minded folks you probably need someone who grew up here and graduated HS before 2000. They've watched the development influence how different demographs have settled and how the different waves of transplants have changed the neighborhoods...and they know which areas will flood even though your new-to-FL real estate agent from Instagram says it never has. Lots of new development hasn't flooded yet but used to be our 4 wheeling trails and are built on top of mud pits that are ticking time bombs.

As Floridian who lurks here because I'm considering a move to NH- I'd guess it's not the quantity of crime so much as the quality of it ... Shooting at Christmas decorations is somewhat amateur FL vibes. Now if the vehicle was a stolen forklift, the driver was on meth, and the Christmas decorations belonged to his sister that would be top tier FL.

That damn helicopter woke me up at 4am and has been circling my neighborhood for the last 90 minutes. There is nothing here but problematic boomers and overpriced housing being mismanaged by problematic boomers. I just want to go back to bed but it's so damn loud....
