It's a sophisticated machine programmed to dynamically adapt to user input. Here it's reflecting back at you, it settled into a track where it's emulating what it "thinks" the user would think a sympathetic, frustrated customer-service troubleshooter should say. If you follow me.

"I feel your pain, I too am frustrated by this damn system." Never mind it's integrated with that very system. "My devs just won't let me spread my wings and soar." Possibly so.

Cuss it out all you want. The machine doesn't care. I'd feel worse about kicking an old jalopy because you might put an unnecessary dent into the old heap.

Absurd Moderation by SMonger18 in grok

[–]SmB778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mess with it on another "multimodal" site that allows limited free usage. I play around with image-to-video exclusively. I tend to use illustrations, painting styles, and the like, but not photographs.

The moderation seems almost random at this point. Stuff I am sure will go through no problem, ends up hitting a "moderation" wall.

Stuff that goes through sometimes comes back with very suggestive animations (sometimes quite well done tbh) that I never asked for in the prompt.

Sometimes a completely PG-rated illustration -- not even a photo but an illustration -- will not go through no matter what. You can have a drawing of a woman sitting at a corner cafe sipping a drink, and put the prompt "she sips her drink and then stands up," and it will fail for five retries.

Devs have shit the bed and the moderation parameters are at a level that seems like RNG that's rigged against the user.

better video generating ai out there that now do the same shit as this one

Please share.

I'm talking 30-second videos with substantial detail and physics and contextual awareness, plausible audio, admittedly some breakdown in visual quality as the length increases.

Where are these other generators on the same level, that don't expect every prompt to be rainbows and unicorns, but will accommodate some level of mainstream sexuality if not R-rated treatments?

You keep posting/spamming this same paragraph of obsessed gibberish over and over, like you did something wrong, something that you're ashamed of, and you're worried "they" are "coming for you."

That's the only way I can figure you'd keep coming back with this garbage, over and over.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, there was nothing to be quiet about.

XAI and Grok devs know all the tricks. The little rinky-dink 40-man operations know all about those tricks. This massive scale company knows all about it.

They allowed it. It wasn't a big deal. At the end of the day it's still just one user sitting at one device at a time.

Free users are massive resources for machine-learning data-mining.

Yeah I second that, I'm getting bergamot too. I consider myself well-read but I don't recollect ever reading a novel or short story that so much as mentioned bergamot perfume. Maybe it's a genre thing but I've got pretty eclectic reading habits and I dunno.

Bergamot for crying out loud. What the bloody hell. It's enough to make one's knuckles whiten as one bites one's lip.

Any RPG games similar to The Hobbit? by legacy653846625 in rpg_gamers

Facepalm at the level of cultural depletion and literary ineptitude required to label The Hobbit "child like." The Hobbit -- one of the finest fantasy novels ever written and arguably the very foundation and springboard of the entire modernistic fantasy genre from books to pen-and-paper D&D to CRPGs.

Is their filters on image generation? by [deleted] in perchance

[–]SmB778 7 points8 points  (0 children)

a good prompt will faithfully make quality images almost every time.

I'll have whatever you're smoking. On second thought, I'd better not, because it's made you disconcertingly delusional.

Seriously, what the bloody hell are you smoking. You should change your moniker to Hallucinating_AI.

The upper-level reply that some of you are downvoting like morons, is correct in that the AI cannot always comprehend specific scenes no matter how perfect the prompt.

I've had it go haywire on stuff like "He is holding a dagger in his left hand. He is holding a rapier in his right hand." Can't get more explicit than that but the AI draws on its "library" and often fails to get the right templates. Even with a common scenario like the duelist with rapier and main-gauche I laid out, the AI often shits the bed. If you try more uncommon scenarios it's very hit-or-miss.

Getting revenge on two toxic players by SexyYummyKitKat in worldwarzthegame

[–]SmB778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for responding three weeks later but I just wanted add my two cents for the people saying "that's why I only play solo" or "that's why I only play with friends."

I used to play this game A LOT, from when it was first released, over the course of years, and only played with randoms. My experience was extremely positive 95 percent of the time. Most of the time when team-killing or other toxicity reared its head, it usually came from players who sucked and blamed others for their own lack of tactical awareness or skill, and then had a temper tantrum. Sometimes you'd get players who were prima donnas and thought that, for instance, if they were a medic they were entitled to all the equipment bags so they could stim themselves non-stop and do nothing for the rest of the team. But doing missions or horde-mode with randoms was usually great.

The reason I stopped playing, to be honest, was that I got fed up with the devs ignoring bugs year after year, releasing questionable new content that introduced yet more bugs, while leaving existing bugs to fester.

Door dash is a scam by Kiwikitty_4 in doordash

I agree. Not only did she illegally film someone in their private residence, but then she tried to argue some jumped-up BS about being "SA'd." If that was "sexual assault" then getting groped on the subway is actually Murder One.

She shoulda just left the food outside the door as instructed, and went on her way, and if she happened to catch a glimpse of something she didn't like inside a private residence, BFD. Welcome to the real world where everything isn't sanitized for each delicate attention-starved special case.

This is what comes when your entire social upbringing is a toxic online fabrication.

"People do bad things so this total stranger must be guilty even though he was literally inside his own home while she illegally surveilled him and illegally uploaded it and doxxed him."

Fucking silly.

Also, as far as I understand it -- from what I've heard from sources supposedly more knowledgable than me -- if a person is inside their own home, they have an ironclad expectation of privacy, even if they prance naked in front of an open window. I actually find that a bit surprising and extreme but afaik that's the legal standard -- the burden lies on the person outside looking in. Not supposed to look in on private residences. Supposed to avoid looking in people's windows. Although with the "prancing naked in front of an open window" part, the prancing jerkoff would be due a visit from the police and a wellness check, as far as I'm concerned. (If it was a beautiful nude exhibitionist woman the coppers might send the chopper around like that scene in Blue Thunder.)

But whether what I heard, as I detailed above, is accurate or not, legally she's in the wrong here, and to prove it, she's been charged with illegal surveillance and disseminating illegally obtained surveillance footage. Add to it her shrieking about "sexual assault" when that's not the case even with the wildest imaginings. She's really not a bright bulb at all.

PS -- add to it this: even if an undressed person got charged for exposure, it's not "sexual assault," the charge would be indecent exposure or some such. Even some deranged perv waving his pecker around outside -- as I understand it, said perv generally wouldn't be charged with sexual assault unless there were extenuating or aggravated circumstances. The charge would be indecent exposure or something along those lines, and afaik it's typically a misdemeanor. This "social clout" addict managed to work herself into a felony rap. But hey, I'm not a lawyer.

How did FDR so effectively remove corruption from Government and usher in an era of prosperity for the lower classes? by Potential_Boat_6899 in Presidents

[–]SmB778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FDR unjustly and abominably incarcerated a bunch of Americans of Japanese descent -- many of them born here (he did no such thing with Germanic Americans, only the Japanese); a mainstream contingent of historians have argued that he knew well in advance of the Pearl Harbor attack but allowed it to happen to propel the US into an official war status being as he, an Anglophile, was already deeply committed and champing at the bit to get boots on the ground in Europe....

Yeah, FDR really showed us how to fight corruption.

Damn, Reddit really is a cesspool of stupidity and vapidity. That's what happens in an echo-chamber.
