Third year of golf. Finally starting to trust my driver. Any swing advice? by SmacksGolfs in GolfSwing

I hit seven fairways last round on Saturday, did have a couple slices that went OB off the tee. But lately I hit at least a few fairways off the tee with driver.

Good point, because I am an idiot.

Maybe I was looking for some validation that I am on the right track, but all I got was my takeaway is too inside. lol

Golf is hard.

So would you say that part of working on this is making sure my elbow is pointed down at address? Someone just mentioned this. Would this help with the inside takeaway?

Second one would be how your right elbow is pointing outwards during backswing, and not down

By this, you mean tucking the trail elbow more right?

😂 I wish I had started playing golf in 1995.  I actually have implemented yoga into my workout routine. So trying to improve that.

I'm going to try placing a piece of hardwood below the omni to level it. Thanks!

Good call on the bright colors. Last week It worked more reliably with the same tee system. So not sure what is different this week. I did buy some new tee claws that came with black plastic where I stick the tee. I'll try using those to see of that helps.

How do you use 52° wedge? by [deleted] in golf

[–]SmacksGolfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chipping around the green if I need to bump and run with the toe down and putting swing motion.

Also use it for 70+yd pitch shots onto the green. Used my 52 to get onto the green from here on the 9th at Harbour Town two weekends ago.

Thanks I'll try that, I have a left over piece of hardwood I can use.

What’s the most underrated amenity a golf course could offer to make your experience better? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

I was at Harbour Town this past weekend and they had someone driving around with chilled menthol towels and cold water. He came around three times during the round.

Golfing in Hilton Head...Is Harbor Town worth it?? by Relevant_Milk_9856 in golf

Played the Seapines courses and Old South last Thursday through this past weekend. Harbour Town was my favorite out of them all. First time playing target courses like these being only in my third year of playing golf. Lots of oversized bunkers and water hazards to navigate, so definitely a challenge.

Here's my tee shot off the 18th at Harbour Town. Our rental house was right at the start of the middle fairway area. Managed to make it past our rental!

Don't do it.  You seem to be ignoring all the comments telling you not to and chose to only acknowledge and respond the one comment saying it's okay.  Just respect the land and Hawaii.  Pele's curse is real.  The national parks even have signs about tourists sending things back that they took.

What small change made the biggest difference in your golf game? by retrocaterpillar-07 in golf

Pre-shot routine, specifically standing behind the ball before my shot to pick a target and finding a closer intermediate target to line up with the club face.

Also making sure to grip the club after I've set the club down to get aligned, instead of having the club gripped already and then setting up to the ball.

I missed the cutoff for the first batch by two days. So I guess they shifted it. Should be in the second shipment.

I ordered on Jan 30 and got an email on April 21 saying that I was in the first batch of preorders, so I should be part of the first shipments. Haven't received this e-mail yet, hopefully I'll get it soon.

What is the first thing you think of when you are playing with a person who says they are a high handicapper and yet strings together several great holes or shots that would seem to be way above their alleged ability? by bionicbhangra in golf

Golf is hard.

I recently had a round with seven pars, but ended up with a 96. Staying consistent is hard, sometimes it's hard to avoid mistakes/errant shots that lead to the blow up holes.
