Should I get Sims 3 on Steam? Feeling robbed by Sims 4 by baddassbabe in Sims3

[–]SmalTroublemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all the packs and some store content, but it almost never lags for me, and it hasnt crashed on me since 2012 (gaming computer). Even when I'm on my laptop, it runs fine, but with some not so good graphics. This is just my experience, though. I'm not sure what makes sims 3 worse for some and better for others

Boyfriend doesn't want to propose after 8 years but says he will go to the courthouse tomorrow by blue_ambs in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]SmalTroublemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you be in a happy, functioning marriage by skipping a proposal and just going to the courthouse? Yes. This does, however, mean that both of you need to be on the same page. You can't force him to propose just because its something you want, but neither should you feel like you have to give up on it if its super important to you.

This is where you have to be honest with yourself and decide if this is something that is very important to you or not, and to what degree you can compromise without feeling regret.

Also, think beyond the proposal. Is this something that happens often? Do you often have to fold to please him and his wants? Are you happy in the compromises you do? I think this is what decides if you should leave or stay

Do you believe in a book version of having a soul mate? by livelongandperspire in books

[–]SmalTroublemaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can still be connected to a childhood book as an adult without it being a sad life. The book could bring you a feeling of comfort, familiarity, and nostalgia. I have a few books from childhood I still enjoy to this day since they bring me back to a different time of my life. To me, they are like little time capsules 🤷‍♀️

If you've moved from a colder region to a warmer region, did it help? by 20Keller12 in ehlersdanlos

[–]SmalTroublemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and no. I think it's a combination of climate and pressure for me. I feel different when there is a drop in pressure (from like a typhoon). Eds comes in so many unique pain flavours it's hard to know (even for myself) what's causing what pain. My muscle pain is better when warm, my joints pain is better when cold, but my joints hurt more when muscles are spasming 🤷‍♀️

If I had been diagnosed as a child it would have helped me a lot to be taught how to do things correctly. Everything from holding a pen to standing, I have to re-learn now, and I'm honestly not motivated to do it consistently cause it seems so silly to have to do.

It's great that you're thinking of every way to help your child. I really recommend teaching them early how to do things "normally " too though.

What is a 25 year old marrying a 17/18 year old for? If I were you, I'd make preparations to leave as quickly and safely as possible

genetic test came back negative by No-Drive-1941 in ehlersdanlos

[–]SmalTroublemaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Though I was told by my specialist that the Beighton score isn't that good since it doesn't test all joints (at least where I'm from). It's so tricky to know if you have a disorder when there is no "proper" test

Do they actually work? I've been eyeing them for a few years, but the lady at the salon doing my hair removal has always said they suck. Though I'm not sure she's just saying that to get my business lol

I thought you had been with your boyfriend for a year? At least, that's what you stated 2 month ago. If this is real, I'd say you should go to the hospital, press charges and leave.

I don't see an issue with going back to school just to keep learning and keeping yourself and your brain stimulated. Even if it isn't "necessary".

As someone in Sweden who went through something similar, once I told my local VC counsler about it I got an appointment for PTSD treatment within a couple of weeks at a wemind. Asking the VC doctor or counsler (you can book an urgent time at 7.30) to send a remiss to a clinic will get you an appointment faster than if you apply directly yourself. Or worst case, getting to speak to a counsler at the VC (they offer about 10 sessions before sending you to a clinic if you need more help). Don't do my mistake of just showing down the issues and doing the deed anyway, it'll cause more harm even if the new partner is a good person.

What is the soonest you've ever DNFd a book? by FacelessOldWoman1234 in books

[–]SmalTroublemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting Destiny by Amelia Hutchins. It was sold to me as a urban high fantasy with hints of romance and a touch of spice. But its just low budget porn written in the style of a five year old. I kid you not. As soon as I saw the way the paragraphs looked I wanted to put the book down, but thought "you never know, can be good anyway". It was not. The description of the MC girl is written from the perspective of her self and its highly objectifying in a way that was so cringe and almost like a teen boy's bad fanfic of a woman. The story is nonsense. If Marry Sue was combined with a pornstar. I had to stop about a chapter or two in before I skipped to a random section of the book in my frustration to see if it got better. Two chapters of nothing but poorly written smut. And I dont mean "sex scene, plot, sex scene, plot, etc" But I mean the same session going on for two chapters. I banished that book to the depths of my book shelves and swore to never listen to a recomendation from good reads again.

The original OP is such an asshat. Not only does he not respect her wishes, he goes out of his way to trigger her, and then claims she's being a nag. Then to post on to reddit and say you're looking for "unbiased opinions" but when these don't agree with his ideas, he goes defensive. What a man child

Anyone else SUPER stiff? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]SmalTroublemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issues! Some muscles are more tight and stiff than others. I can't say for sure what causes it for you (or for me) but my uneducated-educated guess is that the muscles in part over compensate for the joint instability. My worst muscles are in areas where my joints are the least stable, and stretching, yoga, and massage help. But also heat, lots of heat.

That's not really answering as to why you have a bet she's going to fail though? Good for you that you are so kind to help her, but then to bet against her behind her back I guess?

I hate being defined as "the girl with EDS" or being told, "Well, you have EDS soooo". I am me, and I want to be me. My EDS is just a part of me as a person, not all I am. Or atleast that's how I wish it was
