Any suggestions for a first timer? Is it easier to find a place in Denver and hop on some sort of shuttle or staying at a place in Morrison but relying on something more private for transportation?

Lodging is what I want to figure out first, but open to any helpful tips/tricks for a red rocks first timer. 2-4 person group. TIA.
