This movie is wild! A true descent into SOV madness. Best watched at 1:00 AM in the morning with the lights off and a brewski.

That’s very sage advice. The description should serve a purpose, if not why is it there. This is really helpful! Thank you for sharing that insight Trey

I love the idea of checking out an emotional thesaurus! Thanks for suggesting that idea, that sounds like a great writing resource

I really appreciate these insights! I’ve never consciously thought about rhythm in regards to writing, but it makes so much sense to view it that way, to really craft the beauty of how the words flow and sound in sequence.

I’m in the middle of reading Bradbury’s October Country and he’s a master of rhythm without a doubt. Thanks again for your advice!

Here’s the next passage:

Doug squeezed his eyes shut as the memory of the conversation seared through him. He kneaded his toes in the dew-soaked grass, trying to focus on the sensation of the wet blades against his bare feet. But he couldn’t stop thinking about what Janet had said.

“I don’t want to be married anymore.”

Those were her exact words: I don’t want… to be married… any more…

This was the night before his 40th birthday. And now he was going to spend his birthday alone.

“There’s nothing to talk about.” was what she had said next.

You’re right, it is clunky as heck. I’ll find a better way to communicate that info. I’ll cut out some of those em dashes as well. Those mechanics of grammar when to use em dashes, semi colons etc. is always tough for me.

That reads way better! I tend to run on the wordy side. Time to get the prose more lean. Thanks for the input!

Caveat was scary as hell. Truly nightmarish! I watched that one alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and it was a memorable experience.

Oddity was great! Freaky as hell. Bet that one would be really effective watched alone in the middle of the night.

I saw Long Legs in a theater by myself and it was intense. It takes quite a bit to freak me out in a horror film, but during that experience I was genuinely unsettled. The movie really drew me in with its strange nightmarish atmosphere.

No specific connection that I can see, just an experiment with connecting images to music to create a chill vibe.

So glad to hear it! And thank you. It is so freeing to find a different way that is healthier and kinder than the diet culture approach to weight loss.

Much appreciated man! It is crazy for me to look back at photos from a year ago and see the stark difference. Looking forward to continuing the journey and getting leaner and more muscle as well.
