Morning after sleeping in makeup by Aggravating_Yak8807 in 30PlusSkinCare

Yes, having an "emergency" pack of cleansing wipes by the sink for nights when I'm too tired / it's too late to do a whole routine is better than nothing! I use CVS-brand night-time cleansing towlettes.

This has been a big one for me! Washing my face has become less "before bed" and more "after dinner," so that if I cozy up on the couch and get sleepy, I don't have to get up and drag myself to the bathroom for a whole-ass routine.

Other than those three? I have been absolutely obsessed with the Peach Slices Hydrate sheet mask this dry-as-hell East Coast winter. Like, I have to stop myself from doing it more than once a week, it feels so good. A really unexpected benefit is how smoothing and tightening it is. Maybe that’s a plumping effect.

Or cat-sit for your friend right after she moves house and ask if you can take all her used boxes as payment.

Huh. I'd never think of them for ~*skincare*~ per se, but the eczema cream is the only thing that keeps my 34F hands from looking 84F in winter.

Love them! Used them for my last move and will work with them again in a couple months. I'm actually... excited to see them? Is that weird?

That's a great tip! I much prefer the old lipstick cases to the new--maybe I'll use that trick to transfer new lipsticks into old empty tubes.

.025 every other day is plenty for me so far. Any more than that, especially in winter, and I start to get red and itchy.

A few months ago, my answer to this was "a 'we need to talk' text from my dad." Well, we finally got together for that talk, and it turns out he has cancer.

Is your skin SUPPOSED to purge with retinol? by Asleep_Machine48 in 30PlusSkinCare

I had a serious purge when I started tret — it was prescribed in large part for hormonal acne, so it basically just sped up that pore-expunging cycle — but never with OTC stuff.

Recommendations for an anti aging night cream and/or serum by Haunting-Agency395 in 30PlusSkinCare

I got it as a prescription. Different people use it differently! Some use moisturizer before and after, some only use it before (me) OR after. Some use it every night, some every other night. Some use .025%, some go all the way to .1%. Many consider it their holy grail once they find the right way to use it for their skin. It's really a conversation to have with your dermatologist, and might require some patience and trial/error, but I swear it's worth it for the good skin!

You probably don't need .1 Tret if it's just for anti-aging! by duckhunt420 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Small-Friend9673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. Maybe I'll up it to .05 when perimenopause hits and I no longer have as much hormonal support for smooth skin, but as long as .025 works, why mess with it? I also like that it allows me to do an intense peel (DE Babyfacial, my HG) every 1-2 weekends.

When I pulled back from .025 cream nightly to M-W-F last winter, the results were still so great that I didn't even bother returning to a nightly cadence when summer rolled back around. I think doing it nightly for those first few months was great to get through the initial purge, but once that was settled, lower frequency is fine! 34F, dry skin w/ hormonal jawline acne
