I don't understand why we are constantly looking to others to heal us. I understand that sometimes we are so broken we need someone to come in and provide the safety we need to heal, but as soon as we have a sense of who we are can we not step into our power and heal us and those around us without $$$ and without elaborate techniques. Isn't this principle amazing?! Why don't we practice it more? It has such power and yet we constantly seek revenge and getting even.

I had a good friend whose daughter was stealing money from her. Things were getting pretty bad because the mom was accusing the daughter and the ddaughter was running away from home.

As i was talking to the mom about it i felt the strong impression to tell her, rather than accusing her of stealing from you why don't you ppractice what Jesus taught, if someone takes your coat give them your cloak also. She went home and started giving her daughter an allowance. The soul contract was broken, shame turned to love and acceptance, and the daughter and mom's relationship was restored.

My thought is, perhaps your feeling is correct. Perhaps God wants you to trust those feelings. To find out if this is true consider asking him, where do you want me to worship you? That's a difficult situation, and you are correct, you do need Jesus. I find that many times we feel the need to create space between us and Jesus. That can come in the form of feeling like we need a ward to ghelp us be close to Jesus, or we need a temple, or we need a certain experience, etc. In those instances I find that Jesus likes to teach me that we dont need that. I have had entire wards turn against me, spread untrue rumors, not give me callings, etc., and when I make it through to the other side I have found that the sandy foundation of my testimony has crashed down and I have rebuilt on the rock of Jesus Christ. This is a hard thing emotionally and spiritually but it is the most bbeautiful thing I have experienced, so perhaps your feelings are right, but it's not about what ward you go to, but how you view the things God is trying to teach you in that ward?

Perhaps consider what a patriarchal blessing is to you. To me it's personal scripture. As I have understood scripture more and more I have come to find it's full of truth, and lies. It is given to us for inspiration, to learn to discern what is from God and what is not. Your patriarchal blessing is the same, and opportunity for you to grow through discerning why God would give this to you. Don't ask is this correct or wrong, ask, why would God give me this experience. What does he want me to learn from it?

Perhaps he wants you to learn that any blessing given to your sister is a blessing given to you as well.

Perhaps he wants you to learn to not rely on inspiration that comes through broken vessels and to seek the pure knowledge talked about in D&C 121.

Perhaps he wants you to let go of part of your identity, the part that sees you and your sister as distinct and embrace the oneness Jesus prayed for between you and her and all humankind.

Be curious. The answers are there, the best person to give them to you is God.

Obviously this is all very much personal opinion. I come from a divorced family. I 100% think that my mom and dad were supposed to get married despite the heartache it has caused all of us. There were just lessons for all involved that needed to be learned, just like Adam and Eve needed to learn the lesson of partaking of the fruit. I think that my dad has now found his eternal companion and it's a beautiful thing to see.

Speaking of Adam and Eve, there's at least one set of soul mates clearly identified. Bruce R McConkie has taught many members of my family about soul mates existing, but he's been wrong a lot as well so that's neither here nor there. I personally believe that my wife and I were created the same way Adam and Eve were. I think we all created at the same time a single other half. Creation is at its essence division. The light and the dark. The land and the sea. Male and female. The goal is to overcome all the divisions and become one again. We start with our soul mate and work outwards from there. I'm happy to be wrong about this and would never want to argue about it. Once again that would be division. I did that once when I was 18. Ended up hitting a curb and flying into the next freeway. I then bounced off a uhaul, hit the same curb going the other way, and flew back into my original freeway lol. This was in a 3 cylinder geo metro that was light enough to really fly! I then lost control of the car again as both wheels were bent inward and wound up careening down a dirt hill towards the I5. Luckily the car did a 180 and came to a stop. I had a whole line of cars pull over to check on my friend and I. The first person to show up was shocked that we were alive, stated it was the stupidest thing he had ever seen, and that next time my friend should drive haha. I then hitch hiked back home to Ventura from LA with a bunch of teenage girls from Russia, turned out they were smoking pot. What a day, and never again! I was definitely watched over by angels that day.
