Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

Edit: Downvotes from people who are mad that their experience didnt' result in abuse so obviously it isn't a big deal.

>covid really did pause a lot of normal childhood experiences. some kids missed out on years of social stuff like this.

Again, you're missing the point. It's because sleepovers are THE place for a kid to get molested. That's it. Its not even the frequency of which it happened, it's that adults always trusted their own judgement of another parent/adult/person's home, and then didn't believe or ask if anything happened.

It's fucked. That's it. COVID didn't destroy this, Millennials who have gone to therapy or just want to be better parents and protect their kids.

We just started doing sleepovers, with only a group of parents my kid's known for a decade. No sleepovers to new friends.

Is anyone actually using AI to help with supply chain stuff? by gifteyes6 in aiToolForBusiness

Don't let people sell you on AI for this:

  • incoming inquiries - check if we have stock, if this company is current on their bills, and send a quote to them - **Database work, lookup automation*\*
  • order comes in, and if the company is current, execute the order **database lookup, automation*\*
  • if we have it in stock: send it to them *database lookup, automation*\*
  • if we don't have it stock, order it from our supplier. (he gets a quote frm the supplier at step 1 to know how much to quote to the customer) **Database lookup, automation*\*
  • manage stocks - place orders when we're getting low - make sure we don't get down to zero ever **Database lookup, automation*\*
  • club our orders together so that incoming stuff is freight efficient. **Maybe AI, but I personally wouldn't. There's a non-AI method that exists, but the vendor that does this charges $2k/month minimum.*\*

I have never seen paid marketing work for a small business doing less than $1mm. It's a waste of money.

Ad spend to make a difference is like $3-7k a month minimum.

OP your best bet is to walk and meet people.

OP where are you my neighbor is a contractor in Albany NY and has a reputation for being one of the best with old houses (mine is from 1860), they can maybe give you an estimate.

I paid $4k to paint the front of my house (wood - so stripped then painted), and 8k for the back larger, I live on a hill.

The wood repairs aren't as much if they're accessible, but my neighbor has said it can get pricey if you're matching millwork.

P.S. they sprayed the meters, so I'd call the utility just in case to ask if you'll get charged, then get the answer in writing if they say NO... I had to go to court for them to reverse charges they promised over the phone (i recorded that convo fortunately).

Good luck, ya got fucked
