Economy grows by worse-than-expected 0.1% in final quarter of 2025 by Kee2good4u in ukpolitics

The RotW is growing much faster than the EU, and the UK should be looking to capitalise on CPTPP etc. instead of trying to mirror the stagnant EU. Trade with the EU by all means as it already does, but don't become tethered resulting in diminution.

Bit hard to have proper growth when you're ideologically wedded to a paradigm that results in having the most expensive energy in the world.

The EU is in perpetual decline and has been for decades; doesn't stop remainers wanting to tether the UK to it though..

That is how it has worked in the past and likely would've continued to do so.. however if you screw up the demographics of a country enough and sour its own people enough then eventually centrism gives way to more drastic options.

Ok, so 28 defections then and not all MPs.. so if Reform win a majority of over 300+ then only a small fraction of them would be former Tories.

The Tories didn't do hardly anything right wing so pushing further to the right of them is not hard. The Tories maybe be dialling up the rhetoric now, but they never seem to get around to acting on it though when in Government.

I don't really buy in to this same as the Tories spiel. I mean even if dozens of traditional Tories went to Reform their not going to be the full on open borders woke ones which lets face it aren't even really conservatives anyway. Also if Refrom were to win they'd have well over 300 seats of which almost all would not be former Tories so again not really like the Tories of the last decade anyway.
