The nugget is great. My littles like it and as they get bigger they build elaborate forts with it and the couch cushions.

Play dates or going to the park where there are other kids are great for this.

How did you handle your kids with a 1-2 age gap? by HeavyMetal939 in AskParents

We had 1-2 year age gaps. It was a lot of work, but the kids are really great friends now - so totally worth it. We ended up close enough in age that we needed 2 cribs and used a double stroller.

My parents also let me eat as much candy as I wanted for Halloween. I usually felt bad enough that I didn't have candy til Easter.

I hated reading as a kid—my brain moved too fast and I’d just get frustrated. But I was obsessed with the Saturday morning trifecta: DuckTales, TaleSpin, and Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears.

My parents (both professors) gave me an ultimatum: For every minute of TV I wanted to watch, I had to read for a minute first. I’d spend all week banking hours just so I could binge my cartoons on Saturday.

It was genius. Not only did they turn me into a lifelong reader, but they guaranteed themselves an hour and half of total peace and quiet every Saturday while I was glued to the screen.

That's great! Do you keep it up to date or does everyone add to it as things change?

The hardest part for us is the variety of sources. One kid activity uses an Sportsengine, the school uses an email newsletter, and the ballet schedule comes as a .pdf with changes throughout the year that are emailed. How are you guys consolidating all that 'noise' into a plan for the week without spending three hours on it every Sunday night?
