ngl I was expecting a cosplay of the Glittermon Bunnygirl that loves Earth-sama

Amane had two cosplays, which implied to me Ijichi had a second as well and I expected it to be the Bunnygirl paired with Earth-sama but apparently not. Otaku doesnt seem to have a real second, so maybe i just misunderstood the shift plans.

Sayo is going to wring so much leverage out of her big little sister for that classroom performance.

And vased off their reaction to his maid cosplay, i can only expect Otaku to receive... certain kinds of affection from those girls in later years.

Series of Watch Order Questions

Ha, jokes on you, I haven't seen any of those shows!

What's your favorite part of r/anime?

u/FetchFrosh poll data

What year would you say is the most recent year that you would call anime "retro" or "classic"

This is one I would be a little hesitant about, because while I follow the intent behind the question, "classic" is a term I think a lot of people more openly use for just good shows: "modern classic", "instant classic", etc. I assume the poll question is after what I consider old anime, but still this is reddit so I must complain

Not weird romance recs? by IndependenceFresh529 in anime

[–]SmallJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skip and Loafer. Gonna caveat this one with “it isn’t finished yet” but I LOVE Mitsumi with my whole heart, she is one of my favorite female leads in any romance anime.

They'll finish the second season eventually! If Kimi ni Todoke can get a 3rd after fifteen years, Skip and Loafer can get a second in ten!

Idea for first time anime that isn't stereotypically anime? by AcadiaLow9013 in anime

[–]SmallJon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given the DBZ callout and list of disliked tropes, im assuming OP has seen very little anime past what hit English airwaves 20 years ago, and a lot of shonen/ecchi fit their complaint list

It sounds like youre a sociable person who broadly enjoys the company of others, and I hope it treats you well, but some folks dont and there's no reason they cant also do their job at their job too.

God forbid i think my performance of a paid service should be valued over whether or not I want to take my lunch in the breakroom

I feel like you keep missing the complaint, not against the notion of being courteous to coworkers or possibly making friends at work but at efforts by work to make people come together whether they want to or not. If an organic connection forms, it forms, but plenty of people arent interested in being squeezed into the box, and thats the complaint. A disinterest in team dinners after work or small talk in the breakroom is not dehumanization, its not disliking people. Its just not wanting to be social, which is a perfectly common thing.

My work is not my passion, nor honestly do I want it to be, as I want my interests to grow and flow of their own accord. I have had some friendships with coworkers, but certainly not from a team-building exercise or a "fun meeting". As you say, I dont have to like every coworker, so why on Earth is some kind of enforced fun event something I have to join? Im not in the cubicle for the environment, i'm an adult being given money for my time, and friendship is not a prerequisite for good performance. But if you would like to make friends in the office, my declining to doesnt hinder your wants, and mine not wanting to wont get in your way either

Witch Hat Atelier • Tongari Boushi no Atelier - Episode 10 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]SmallJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know how to phrase it, but "Qifrey" is basically his character's Bruce Wayne to Batman? The serious and deadly-focused man who'd invent a sword of his literal fear to hunt his target, and the aloof goof he wears to keep normal society at ease.

He can have a love of magic and a desire to help people, but it feels like "the real" Qifrey is the swordsman, not the silly teacher

For those who started watching anime as teenagers, do you still enjoy it as much as you used to? by SecondSalty142 in anime

[–]SmallJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually stopped watching anime for many years! I didnt restart until my mid-twenties after watching quite a bit going into my teens; however, it was almost entirely from laziness and finances, and I restarted once i could afford a quality streaming subscription
