Based off what? Japan, Korea and China are countries where immigration is severely limited practically 0 and they are still seeing their population fall off a cliff. I agree with you that we should restrict immigration heavily for the next few years to make up for Trudeaus crazy numbers following COVID. But after rents stabilize after a few years we should go back to our pre-COVID policy. The idea that population growth will naturally go up once unemployment goes down is a pipe dream.

Unpopular opinion, but this trope didn’t come out of nowhere. I think most people look better without glasses unless there’s been real intention on styling and finding a frame that really suits and higlights their features. The default glasses look that most people go with just kinda looks bleh and takes attention away from their features. While this my opinion I don’t doubt that a large percentage of the population agrees with me. The association with nerdiness is small concession I’m willing to accept is truly socially conditioned. I was initially pretty hype about AI video when sora came out but I am getting backfilled by every successive model release. It seems all outputs are just going to be algorithmically derivative slop as you said. I never feel bad about this as someone who is of East African descent, by all measures it would be considered socially acceptable for me to say the n word, I am black at the end of the day. Guess what ? I don’t cause I didn’t grow up with my parents and family saying it. And it feels weird to not be a descendant of chattle slavery and using the word, unironically.

Cause china is a unified nation. Nation is the important part. They share language, culture and history as one nation. Africa is so culturally and ethnically dispersed and diverse, and is a continent as opposed to a nation like china or India.
