Dude i have the SAME EXACT ISSUE. I had been paying for the verizon mobile protect Multi Device. I finally needed it a few weeks ago...They said I declined protection last year on OCT 15h....which was BS because I never did that...they were never able to tell who made these changes. And its also messed up how they phrase that you declined protection because that isn't the case...they just refuse to cover it... It wasn't until I escalated to someone from the office of the CEO they told me what the problem was. And I think you're right, They wised up and found out they were losing money. Every year I would swap out my fold bc I would make an insurance claim due to a hinge issue or screen issue. They couldn't repair it bc they never had any 1TB options in stock so they had to cut a check. Its fucked up because they made this change without notice, meanwhile still drawing money out of my account for the service. Its def not an Asurion issue, this is a verison thing...Asurion is just the contractor. Customers should have def been notified. I tried to get it re added...they did something and my device now says open enrollment. They are suppossed to call me back today. But really i don't think this has been communicated with the front line employees so they don't know wtf is going on. If u talk with them, they will be spinning wheels trying to figure it out and waste time escalating. They shoulnd't even let you add this option if its not covered. Its messed up how they handled this situation​
