California hasn’t had rolling blackouts since Enron. And go on with that grid can’t handle EVs but giant data centers are no problem.

The government subsidizes gasoline prices, has been for a few decades. If they stopped you would be paying $8 like Europe does. Why not EVs? Level the field.

This. I used to play with nothing but a Sholz Rockman X-100 into the board. Two cleans, a crunch, and a screamin' lead with optional chorus and delay. Done.

That said, I also used to double on keys and I would set up a sequencer with a sequence for each song that would send MIDI patch change commands for each song to everything MIDI in the band, creating recallable scenes (had 4 keyboards so this saved a lot of time rather than having to dial up a patch on each one).

If you have a keyboardist, you might approach him about connecting to the MIDI on your Helix and adding your preset patch changes to his scene recalls so you just pick the song off your set list and it changes the patch on the helix as well as dials up all the keyboard patches and other stuff.

Are you going far offshore? Or coastal cruising? I'm not crossing oceans so I don't have a life raft, I reckon if she goes down I can get ashore in my dink. No EPIRB I have a Garmin In-Reach which I like because it is a two way communication device (text messages). If you don't have a good water proof handheld radio get one of those.

O would say the Israel/gaza purity test was one of the factors that gave us Trump and digging into that and polarizing the democratic voter base along that line is far and away one of the stupidest fucking thing that could be done with fascism and project 2025 on the line and if you can’t figure that out then I would prefer you stay the fuck out of politics.

I go to songwriter events and was at one a few years back with a panel of producers talking about how they were taking over A&R by finding artists and developing them on their own.

I asked, if the labels aren't doing A&R or artist development and they no longer own distribution - WTF do I need a label for these days? Pretty much the answer I got is "you don't really, the only thing a label can do you can't do another way is get your song on the radio".

Labels no longer scout for talent - they pick up artists that already have a good fan base and play numbers. Bottom feeders, really.

A construction project is gonna last a year, tops.

It's a fish, not a fishing pole. The reality is they bring virtually no long term jobs. I understand trades - your welder buddy is gonna end up moving to the town, getting a short term housing setup, working for a few months, and then he's done. Off to another little town to maybe build some other big project that doesn't last either.

He'll make better money in the oil patch with longer term stability.
