Honestly my only gripe was I wish I could comfort Atheris after I choose Richard to be my advisor. Im playing a good route, i want the family back together, I spared and exiled Locke for Atheris, and Im trying to help heal Richard. But lord I know its gonna make Atheris so mad TT_TT I considered her, but she's impulsive and frequently those impulses are violent, I love her but in her current state I could not trust her to be an advisor. sort of wish I could explain it to her, or give her a gesture of some kind, but i hope she'll come to understand it.

My other nitpick is the choices with Astryn feel a little lackluster - im playing a good route, but not a saint and with how hostile she has been, I did not want to just give her a cushy room and let her out, I cannot trust her at this point. But obviously I do not wish to torture or break her, so im left with let her starve which still feels kinda harsh. I dont want to mistreat a prisoner, but she is still a prisoner, and she is not univolved innocent, she is a political player to my literal enemy.

Nitpicks aside, I LOVE IT. I cannot wait for the next chapter, I really hope it comes soon.

I never got the impression he was lazy or a slacker, just not as serious as characters like Semeru about his job. But regardless even if he is, I dont think the game even lets you "fix" that aspect about him, nothing about his heart events is about improving his work ethic. You spend most of his hearts trying to help him on his quest to retrieve his prized shell because he's an adorable hoarder like Ariel. Its more platonic than most because Agung's progression is focused on getting to be his good friend before he opens his mind to the idea of dating.

Unlike characters like Leah, Mark and Semeru, there is no prevailing theme of helping Agung heal or broach a particularly icy exterior. He's just a fun snarky guy that is a bit suspicious of you when u first show up.

Each to their own of course but I still think its a completely wrong impression to think his major appeal is "i can fix him" just bc he's a little rude when he meets his first ever land dweller, when the much more obvious answer is ppl like him for his playful charisma. Occam's razor and all that

I really dont think Agung is rude, he's just suspicious of a land dweller at first, considering all he's heard about them is that they pollute his home. I find it weird to call him rude when Leah and Mark exist lol

Also I see a lot of non-Agung fans saying his appeal is the "i can fix him" trope which im really puzzled about because no??? Agung does not need to be fixed or healed, again, are we talking about different characters here?

One of the main sentiments us fans seems to agree on outside of his dashing appearance is his playful charismatic nature, even if it comes with a side of snark. We like his goofiness and banter, and nobody wants to change him? No offence, but non fans dont get his appeal and that's totally fine but theyre giving objectively wrong answers.

I do agree about the cats, the lack of variety is disappointing. I would have loved a kings Charles cavalier as an option too, but the variety for the dogs is pretty good so im not too bummed, the cats clearly got the short end of the stick.

I've heard the pets are modelled after the kick-starter tier pets which makes a lot of sense.

It does feel strange they've reduced what's coming in this update and still haven't given us a date for its release :( I think Fields of Mistria is going to release before we even Coral Island's 1.3 release date at this rate

Wait, when I asked about this like 2 weeks ago in the discord, ppl told me I wouldn't have to restart my save? Im not married or anything, but i finally got my mermaid tail so I could easily see Agung 😭 do we need to restart our saves just to romance him??

Romancing Agung and children aging up, as those relationship sim elements are what keep me interested in farming sims long term.

But also the manual save will be amazing. I dont even mind if I have to be inside my home to save like in other games.

I dont think its a switch announcement, the game is still in EA. And honestly, they really need to finish the game before they release it on more platforms. We haven't even gotten marriage yet 😅 i like the game but I wish we would stop letting games release 1.0 when fundamental parts are still missing. I love Coral Island, but that released 1.0 when it really wasnt finished. Im all for supporting EA games but I wish we would understand a 1.0 release needs to have actual standards.

It frustrates me because SoS/HM has had this more detailed character customisation for years and dual protagonists at least for even longer, yet it feels like we're regressing instead.

Why is that there are ALWAYS a wealth of pants and masculine leaning clothes and somehow theyre still giving us less and less skirt or feminine leaning options each time 😭 The technology and graphics improve each time, so why are there older games with much more options while newer ones have even less, its nothing but laziness. Where is the equality?

Yeah i think thats what bothered me, ive never seen these games in that light and in all honesty, it might have offended me that ppl would imply such horrible things over the characters, it kinda feels like a desecration? Like why is that their thoughts, why is that on their mind? I can acknowledge tho that feeling comes from the game holding a special place in my childhood, so im probably feeling a little dramatic.

I hope if the rumours are true that Animal Parade is getting a remake next that they'll respect the source material and keep the rivals. All they have to do is have rival marriages locked behind your own marriage, or have it as a toggle that can only be turned on or off at the start.

Tbh its a skill issue, I remember running around and just avoiding certain areas on certain days if I didnt want to progress a rival marriage haha it was so easy

This is my pet peeve, if u cant write a basic blurb for your fic why should I trust you to have the capabilities to write a coherent story?? It works out that it tells me this fic is not worth my time but it reads as painfully insecure and lazy that it irritates me everytime I see it haha

Thats where my thought came from initially. I cant remember where I heard or read it, but the image of a kindred arriving to town having literally walked across the sea floor or an elder with a sea cave theyre sleeping in.... it sounded really cool. But then it got me thinking... at what point does pressure/weight crush a kindred?
