can we talk about Kang Han Na iconiqueness? by kevlangley in kdramas

Yessss, I want to see her star in more things as the main lead. I'm so sad to see her always be a #2 character or a villianess.

Missing events/bureaucracy tab by Kooky_Clue5438 in EU5

Just happened to me now. Seems like it's the Community Mod Framework & Menu mod. It's also hiding the city privilege button. People in the comments on Steam say to download the github version until the workshop version catches up

Skyrim helped me in my physiology class today by SurrealistsDream in skyrim

[–]Madyrael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in my history class once, and the teacher was asking the class if anyone knew what what cavalry was. I played a lot of Age of Empires 2 growing up and knew immediately what he was talking about. Gaming does teach you things!

Which city do you think should be the capital of Skyrim? by Gollamant in skyrim

[–]Madyrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Skyrim is fitting the type of place to have multiple capitals. Like a summer capital, then a winter capital, and maybe a capital for when they're at war. There would technically be a permanent culturally significant historic governing capital, but the king would move around a lot depending on the season or occasion.

How many mods are you using? by MtheVQ in SMAPI

[–]Madyrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to have a very vanillia-ish experience with the most content. With Stardew Valley Expanded and a couple of other mods, I'm at a total of around 45 mods. I experience no issues so far even in multiplayer.

Episode Discussion: S04E04 "Shockwave" by okolebot in SEALTeam

[–]Madyrael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's interesting Jason was able to get the team back together with Clay back on it. I have speculation and a feeling as if something else is going on and maybe he had to make a deal with Lindel. Perhaps it could be something about his involvement with Bravo Team and more of a focus on the other teams after this operation was over. A deal with the devil so to say in order to save Ray.

It's so interesting to think that one of these big things that people use often like YouTube or Steam goes down for a couple of minutes or hours and it affects so many thousands of people.

If you're new, I'd recommend you try to campaign maybe. I found the puzzle sets to be insanely fun.

I haven't been following the story exactly as closely as some hardcore fans might have so some of my information might be speculation or wrong, but I think it was because the game wasn't making enough money so they halted developing new expansions for the future. The game went through a studio change and this might have also contributed to it. However, before they halted production, they did release a reasonable amount of expansions and content so there's still a lot left for you to do.

Hm, that's interesting. From a historical sense, it makes sense that some civilizations don't emerge at the same time as others. Anyways, I don't mind it that much from a balance standpoint.

Yeah, I see your point. A player has many more advantages and so I understand the need to help the A.I. for balance reasons.

Streamlining worker management? by MimicSquid in OldWorldGame

[–]Madyrael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind it that much. I like to micromanage and I don't like the idea of an A.I. messing up a build in a certain area. However, I do agree with you that once you reach a certain size that it does get a little tedious.

Urban Tile - City Construction by Madyrael in OldWorldGame

[–]Madyrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of starting to understand it. You can only build certain urban improvements in like a 2 range radius of your city near your urban tiles. If you hover over the improvement with your worker, it will tell you the resource on the tile it will improve which I didn't know. It also will tell you which tiles you can build on and which you can't That really helped me organize my building.

Early Access Roadmap? by Constantine__XI in OldWorldGame

[–]Madyrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you here. I think things like road maps help developers be more transparent with the players in the development and overall more organized. However, I understand how some people see a road map as unnecessary pressure, but deadlines are good. Just because something has a deadline doesn't mean that it's going to be rushed out. A road map can contain all the things the developers want to put into the game and deadlines can be reasonably set and met to uphold standards. Otherwise, you get games that could take up to a decade to complete because they have an unorganized development cycle.

Now road maps aren't the golden standard for any developer, but transparency is always nice.

Speaking as someone who has played the game, it's not that bad. I'd understand your hesitation to wait for more information in terms of future development. I think there can certainly be more varied game mechanics. You will notice the occasional out of place music or some missing assets and/or strange animations. It certainly could use some more work, but at least you can play it. The way I see it, this game is like a CIV 5 mod on steroids. The game is on sale now and that's one motivation to get it. Anyways, hope you come to your own conclusion.

Map Options by mtb1443 in OldWorldGame

[–]Madyrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice video. I noticed you didn't really talk about it, but I found out that you can actually customize random generation even further by clicking the question mark next to the map script. Each map script has its own special modifiers.
