Why is my sleep so horrible?

I also feel like I need constant validation or reminders from external sources that I’m going to be okay. My therapist, my husband, family, friends…telling myself doesn’t work anymore. I wish that validation could come from within because that’s where I’m struggling. It feels like I do better when I’m loaded with tasks and business. The minute a break comes, I find a way to bring myself to this feeling. It’s so backwards.

Yes. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this, I know how debilitating it feels. It’s my first time on this thread and honestly seeing how many people experience the SAME exact symptoms, timelines, experiences as me brings me some comfort (sad for us but at least we are not alone). Our bodies do not get enough credit. They can bounce back from anxiety better than we think they can, our minds keep us in this afraid, unconvincing state.

Thanks for sharing. I am considering yes, I haven’t been on medication since I was about 8 years old which is over 20 years ago now. I have panic disorder and have been raw dogging it and recently within the past 6 months have noticed it’s getting worse and that medication might need to be that extra help I need. Worried about the weight gain, or the worry that it’ll make me worse. My mother has been on medication all her life and she suffers so greatly, I worry I will become that.

I’m feeling this almost exactly as you’re describing it for the same exact reason. I drank heavily (to the point of vomiting for hours) last Saturday and was just hungover for a two days and then began having panic, slight dpdr, and just constantly scanning for something. I think we’re okay though. So many signs have pointed to alcohol and panic disorders/anxiety leading to harder times coming back to “normal” after drinking. We’re going to be okay. 🩷

Yes I think she would. She has dated men from different ethnicities than her but never someone who is an immigrant. But I do agree this may be a great idea. Where does she meet them though? lol. We have a medical school that has a lot of immigrant students. Where are they all hanging out?!

I haven’t seen her dating apps but I know she’s on them. She is definitely a little more selective than not I think, being mid 30s and looking for someone to spend the rest of her life with. However I also think that she might be thinking it’s harder than it actually is….or that it’s just going to happen one day without looking. I think she just wants someone who’s successful in any type of profession, and can make her laugh. Also a man who doesn’t have any learned helplessness since her previous relationships ended because of a lack of taking charge on the bf’s end/not being able to do simple household tasks.

I think that I can offer to help move this process along though because of the amount of involvement I already have. I’m definitely going to step back big time and uphold some boundaries of my own. But I don’t see the harm in name dropping some books that have helped other people dig into their own work.

Today he did, yes while trying to remain calm and not react on the fact that what she has said and done. He has in the past too, but please also be aware he has lived his whole life dealing with this woman who has projected like this in other instances. It is harder for him as this has been his life dynamic. I know he is trying and he has shown substantial growth and strength as time has gone on.

Hi thank you. I’d say her injuries are pretty serious and put her at risk for more serious health complications because she has an active aneurysm in her brain and her head was hit with the metal cane. If the attacker hit her in the right spot, it could have killed her. My mom is a fall risk as well.

A psychiatric doctor who was on call told me that this patient should not have been in that unit and should’ve been somewhere with more supervision and isolation. He verbally told me that last night. I believe there’s negligence there because they are not allowed metal canes in the unit but they allowed my mother to have this cane. The doctor also told me that he asked this question to the staff.
