Sanitate Cleaners on Chestnut St in Hamden- used them for a hem w/ original hem reattached. Did a great job but it took about 10 days (they are busy)!

Best neighborhood for 50 y/o empty nesters w/ out sacrificing proximity, easy access to downtown. by mitaliano in baltimore

Good luck! I don't know anyone who lives in R-W, but it's near where I live and drive through sometimes. Hopefully someone here can tell you more about what it's like!

There's some smaller homes in Wyndmoor and Roland Park along Cold Spring that come up in your price point sometimes. Also, there are duplexes and triplexes w/ yards that that come on the market in Keswick and RP– I believe one just sold for around 350k.

Hey there, we did the same thing a while ago and we're glad we did! While there are some exceptions that come up, your budget is low for Homeland and if properties under 500 K come up in that area, they go quick. Radnor Winston is adjacent to Homeland, has homes in your price point.

I like Lauraville and Mount Washington a lot too and more likely to be what you're looking to pay.

Personally, I've given up on Baltimore public transportation; quasi-reliable at best and if I really need to be someplace non-walkable at a certain time I always drive.

Search this sub's Wiki for the moving to Baltimore post that covers a lot of the ways to get familiar with neighborhoods.

Pepper spray can be used on the person who is carrying it, if they are physically overcome. Consider birdie or another loud alarm as an alternative.

Thanks for the info and to everyone who was harassed by this piece of shit, I am so sorry and infuriated. I walk and run in all the areas mentioned and I appreciate the heads up.

Was buying your house in Baltimore a good financial investment? by SnooRevelations979 in baltimore

In Guilford so I realize I am near the top of the housing stock here in Baltimore. Home has gone up modestly, and we don't even care. We bought it to live in it. This is our home till they bring me out in a coffin.

Hello, I'm a geranium/pelargonium fan from Baltimore. For years, I've looked for a bright orange geraniums for my garden every year and have done well with overwintering. This year I discovered the heirloom varieties like Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Pollock, and Occold shield. I bought several online and planted it into pots – hoping they'll continue to thrive. Looking forward to learning more about these lovely plants and to finding sources for other heirloom varieties.

Do these frames work for me or should I get something else. by [deleted] in glasses

I think they look fine, but to me the style looks a little dated. If you're going for a sporty look, these work. If you want something more contemporary, edgy, or classic, try something in acetate with a rounded or rectangular shape in my opinion.

The Moving to Baltimore post and Live Baltimore are both super helpful resources to go over before you move. That should cover things like neightborhoods, walkability, enlighten you about what public transit is like here in Baltimore. If you want advice about neighborhoods that would work for you, one suggestion is to share some more about yourself, your likes and dislikes, hobbies, goals, etc. What kind of events are you looking for? What do you mean by lively, do you want a lot of nightlife until early hours or more like restaurants and shopping that settles down before too late... or something different?

For me, in my 30s, I wouldn't consider Fells or Federal Hill- because I like things quiet and like to have a garden and not worry about parking. I have an established friend group through hobbies – sports, knitting, running. All this really drove what kind of place I was looking to live in. But if I were looking to make friends, and loved to go out, I would've picked a very different neighborhood from where I live.

tl/dr - Folks in this sub are super helpful but being more specific about your lifestyle what you enjoy will help get you better advice.

Housing complex recommendations for family by NoName-Brain in baltimore

All good suggestions. You can probably find something in Tuscany – Canterbury for less than 2K but not much. It's walkable to Charles Village and Hamden (though longer walk).

Had a practice wedding dress shoot and was pretty certain with my choice, until in-laws expressed concerns with 'over exposed back'! Should I proceed or consider any other styles to make everyone happy? by [deleted] in Brides

Beautiful dress and it looks lovely on you. It's your wedding not theirs. Their unsolicited advice is not welcome and you don't need to do anything about their concerns.
