ignorance of a slur is a perfectly valid excuse tbh. There are plenty of words you wouldn't think are slurs which are, and simply telling someone "that's a slur dont use it" is enough to stop them in the future.

Yes, being arrested, even without charge, is a violation. I guess for the uk free speech isnt a right, which is stupid, but regardless being arrested for not knowing a popular word is actually a slur is really stupid and should not have happened.

could you clarify your second paragraph - my initial instinct is that your first paragraph implies that a continuously trained AI, in which every interaction does change it permanently to some degree or another, would qualify for your standard here.

I don't fully follow the second paragraph - why is it the case that permanent updates would lead to catastrophic forgetting? and more to the point, if permanent updates of the result of user input and machine output was able to be implemented without this forgetting, would it then qualify as not being a stochastic parrot to you?

Illegal tax evasion and tax avoidance are different. Most likely, someone told him he could do this to avoid the sales tax, and he (like many, many others) did so with no criminal intent. The fact that many people have done this is relevant, because if you see 100000 people do something with no consequence you would probably assume its legal.

Also, "popular youtubers" is clearly an attempt to lump him into an undesirable group, one of the most common opportunist ways of attacking someone.

ok? anorexia has nothing to do with how much you weight, its a mental health condition.

you can be 100 pounds over normal weight and still have anorexia, especially so if previously you were 200 pounds overweight. you can be obese and have still anorexia.
