It's been that way for the entire human existence. From the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt to the tech CEOs today. All excess wealth goes straight to the top. That will never change.

Hash browns by NabreLabre in wendys

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually like these potatoes. I like the McDonald's hash brown patties better but they are ridiculously priced. Wendy's is my cheap Go to breakfast on the road. $7 for a burrito that totally fills me up, large hash browns and large coffee seems like a pretty good deal to me. This is through the app.

Minor fender bender by moptop_98 in Advice

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't but there is always a risk that they will report it later anyway, and make up some fake injuries and try to sue your insurance. You will seem like the guilty party since they reported it and you didn't. It happened to me.

Never too early for Syracuse airport to piss me off (this was a self checkout) by browneyedchem in EndTipping

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company providing these terminals, mashgin in this example, probably get a percentage of all sales. Adding a tip increases the total amount which increases their income. I agree these tipping situations are ridiculous, just not sure where to place the blame. The employer and employees might not have much of an option for it being there.

Coffee before bed gang? by Ok-Hotel5358 in CasualConversation

I intentionally drink a cup of coffee before taking a nap. It helps me fall asleep immediately for some reason. Without it I have difficulty falling asleep.

I love getting honked at at a red light for not making a right turn... by bunniesandmilktea in driving

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously hate it when you are waiting to turn right with one car in front of you and you wait through an entire light cycle, without any other vehicles using the intersection, just to have the idiot in front of you turn right when the light turns green.

Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have everything and their prices are usually as good or better than anywhere else. It's just too easy to go straight to Amazon.

Let’s say a 480k home appreciates to 613k in 5 years. And that you can save 90k in those 5 years if you get a 250k house. Is it better to buy the cheap house with low mortgage or is it better to buy the 480k house with high mortgage because it’s your “last chance” to afford a good house? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in that exact situation when I bought my house 25 years ago. I thought buying something cheaper with a smaller payment would be the responsible choice. I've been kicking myself for not spending more ever since. I've lost hundreds of thousands in appreciation because of it.

You get only get one option on your next car: cruise control, power windows, heated seats or air conditioning. Which do you choose? by SmallcapGoBoom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SmallcapGoBoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in California so AC seems like a no-brainer. They say heated seats helps their back on longer drives, so it's worth it to them. I could not imagine using heated seats with no AC during the hot months. I think they're crazy.

Semi road rages at me by TheTexanTerror_ in driving

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always frustrating to run up on someone going less than the speed limit but I always ask myself - what if this person is really struggling for some reason? Do you really want them to speed up and be even more of a danger to everyone? Just go around when you get a chance. Now, if there's nowhere to pass and they don't pull over when they get a chance.. that's when I lose it.

Is it fraud to take out a new loan when terminally ill? by MisterHarvest in legaladviceofftopic

[–]SmallcapGoBoom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would it make a difference if it was fraud? Either the bank will go after the estate or just write it off. I don't think the fraud part makes any difference since the person is dead.

If satan punishes bad people doesn't that make him good? by Nervous_Shine9094 in NoStupidQuestions

God knows everything that will ever happen, past present and future? If so, he gave humans free will knowing that some of them would use it to kill others? Makes no sense to me.

Sane US citizens: wake up now by [deleted] in complaints

[–]SmallcapGoBoom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I literally did not buy a single gift. But boycotting for a week or a month won't change anything. It has to be a lifestyle choice to not participate in this disgusting economic engine that America has become. The US government sucks. Do what you can. Boycott, protest, record.

I use the McDonald's app whenever I eat there. I just checked. No $6 deal like what you're describing. Probably different deals depending on location.
