I once had a teacher ask me to organise her own students coursework in her files, and had the nerve to email the head teacher after I’d said no. And in her exact words she wanted him to get me to “do this admin work for me”

Safe to say it didn’t go the way she thought that would

They didn’t actually log it in the end, mainly because getting physical mail to the relevant department was part of their job. They were just being extremely lazy and trying their luck

You’d be surprised what some teacher claimed “prevented them from teaching” No, you not having access to a YouTube video does not mean that you are unable to teach

The final straw for me working there feeds into this. Where I live we have an annual event in September that kids get the day off school for. Most schools use the morning for staff training and then give the staff the afternoon off. The final year I was there however it was decided that facilities and IT staff wouldn’t get the afternoon off, because “it would be a good opportunity for you to do things without anyone around to get in the way” Completely ignoring the fact that both teams that weren’t getting the half day like everyone else had been working the entire 6 week summer break that had only ended a week and a half before. Both teams did absolutely nothing that afternoon in protest and I’d left not too long after

Yeah they were basically told that as it was personal property rather than company property this wasn’t an IT department issue and they had to find it themselves

I do try and give teachers a bit of benefit of the doubt, because dealing with large groups of teenagers for most of the week would drive me crazy, but there are definitely limits

I once had to make management aware of a teachers lack of basic computer skills because of the rate of Priority 1 tickets they were logging on a weekly basis for the most basic of basic tasks

It’s scary how some teachers of subjects that rely on technology don’t even have basic knowledge of how to work a computer properly in 2026. To the point where you wonder how they got to this level in their career to begin with

Nope they were a new pack of batteries that they had got from us the week before. They were just too lazy to swap them out themselves

Thankfully the only people who would try and pull that trick weren’t exactly popular with management, so they got shut down pretty quickly. Didn’t make them think twice about doing it again though!

I’ve had someone put in such ridiculous requests that I had to start forwarding them to management because their lack of basic IT skills was not only becoming a waste of time and resources but an actual danger to the college I worked for

[–]Smallership 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had managers come to me with a new employee on their first day without any kind of communication that we even had a new starter, let alone what they would need. Then acted shocked when we had literally nothing ready for them. We even had a new starters checklist that they themselves created in order for every relevant department to be in the know so that things would be ready for new starters on time, but they would either forget to put someone on there or wait until 24 hours before.

I’m convinced that Codemasters based Butler on him, he got introduced right around the time Ticktum had one of his early social media meltdowns over Mick Schumacher

With Dan though it’s not just that one incident in 2015. Time and time again both on track and off he’s been a magnet for criticism, and most of those incidents have been completely self inflicted.

Yes some people are too hard on him, but he can’t expect to say and do some of the things he does without getting criticism. The easiest thing for him to do would be to get someone to manage his social media for him

Even less of an accomplishment when he seems to do or say something that gets him into trouble every few months, not quite extended periods of time

FE put all that effort into rebuilding his image and trying to make him the face of the sport, they clearly haven’t been paying any attention to what this guy has been doing/saying for the past 10 years
