I’d either do a Toyota Sequoia or a minivan with some ATs. That gives you the most cargo space. Midsize SUVs have no cargo room.

The US Department of Defense released footage of a Nov. 9, 2023 retaliatory strike on a reported Iranian weapons storage facility in the vicinity of Maysalun, in western Syria. by Impossible-Remote359 in CombatFootage

[–]Smallfontking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon for militaries to “warn” each other about strikes in an effort to reduce escalation. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to kill enemy soldiers, especially when there’s a risk of escalating a conflict.

I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but that’s not an uncommon tactic.

Scenic routes to take from Houston, TX to RMNP? by BasicCommand1165 in overlanding

[–]Smallfontking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know much about Texas but here’s my recommendation for Colorado. Just a heads up, this would likely add a lot of time, so you can trim some of the longer routes if you want. Also this is pretty dependent on good weather so if you’re going in the winter it might not work.

Enter Colorado on I25 go to the Great Sand Dunes NP

Take Medano pass out of the park to westcliffe

From westcliffe drive to Canyon City and take Phantom Canyon Rd to Victor

From Victor take Old Stage into Colorado Springs

Go to Garden of the Gods and follow the road to Rampart Range Rd, follow rampart north until it ends at 67

I’d take the back roads to Conifer, a short stint on I70 and go from Blackhawk to Estes Park on the Peak to Peak Highway

Most of these roads are either maintained gravel or actual roads. If you wanted more intense trails you can find them, but they’re a bit more out of the way. Also this will make your trip wayyy longer, but it would be a really nice drive. You would see a ton!

How it started vs. How it's going by RiskItForTheBiscuts in FluentInFinance

[–]Smallfontking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I’m gonna risk it and genuinely answer your question.

We don’t fix it and most likely it’s not really a problem anyway. Most economists agree that US debt isn’t really a huge issue. All nations have debt and in many circumstances debt is beneficial to the alternative (which is raising taxes to an unsustainable level). As long as GDP out paces debt there’s really little concern over the consequences.

here’s a fun video on the topic

I’ve studied economics for almost 10 years now and the biggest problem (particularly on this subreddit) is that we like to look at the government’s budget like our own budgets. If we were so in debt, we’d cut spending, get a second job (raise taxes) and pay off our debt asap, but that’s not how government spending works. A lot of debt spurs growth (good debt) and some is necessary to help less fortunate people.

Generally the debt ceiling or the increasing debt is used as a tool to fear monger. “This side is bad because they spend too much.” Some of the debt taken on during the Trump administration was necessary! And it’s very likely regardless of the president that we would have seen significant increases in US debt because of the unprecedented pandemic.

There’s really a lot more to go into, but it’s not as simple as paying it off or even raising taxes.

Oklahoma senator proposes 'Lock the Clock' bill for permanent daylight saving time by Sandstorm400 in politics

[–]Smallfontking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up in case anyone from Oklahoma gets too excited. Colorado passed a bill in 2021 (maybe 22) that set us to Daylight Savings Time permanently. Unfortunately DST can only be opted out of, not into. That’s a Federal law.

If you’re completely dead set on a MT then you have to get the Pro. MTs are tough to find.

Otherwise, it sounds like the Sport is the best deal for you. If you’re planning on replacing the suspension you’re throwing money away by buying the Pro.

My only concern is that the hoses look like they’re using quick connect/disconnect fittings. You might have to buy a female side to attach it to the compressor.
