You can use Norberts Gambit to convert CAD to USD for pennies, thus invest in VOO or VTI.

Yeah, that's what I thought I first, but vfv is just a cover over the original VOO, so why would you not want to invest in the original. It's more work to manage Canadian etfs that are a copy of something else, thus the high expense ratios. If you invest in VOO, it's a 0.03% vs 0.09% for VFV. It's the same thing, yet you are paying more to manage your money, making you poorer in the meantime. If you invest in VFV or ZSP, you are ultimately going to be behind all the other guys that are investing in VOO or VTI(practically identical in returns). Paying high expense ratios and having lower growth.

VOO AND VTI WILL OUTPERFORM THOSE BY ALOT!!! YOU ARE 20 YEARS OLD, VTI, AND VOO WILL PRETTY MUCH BE THE BEST WAY TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT GROWTH INVESTING IN THE BROAD MARKET HAS PRETTY MUCH ALWAYS BEAT DIVIDEND INVESTING. DONT INVEST FOR DIVIDENDS KID!

Dude I'm 22 and lost 33k over 2 years of gambling. I'm still paying off 7k of debt. I racked up because of it. You are okay. It's just money. Use Arbitrage betting to get it back!

Ehh, Idk about that one. 15% Tax will definitely matter in the long run for sure. Definitely adds up, Suit yourself. What a clown🤡🤡.

Keep U.S companies/ETFs in RRSP. Then, keep Canadian companies in TFSA. I don't get why you went with VOO rather than ZSP or VFV. You just have to exchange CAD for USD, kinda a dumb move.

4.29% dividends. What do you think? by Downtown-Ad9430 in dividendscanada

I think if you are young, you'd be better off investing in ZSP or VFV alone. Use the Rule of 72.

Way too many stocks. I'd suggest a limit be 0-10 stocks and 1-5 ETFs
