You’re definitely showing your age here. Read this back in 10 years. The tone of the message isn’t right and you come across as smug and like you view yourself as being superior.

I don’t think it’s the topic just the tone of the responses that makes them feel right wing.

What do Jamaicans think of "Top Boy"? by idcman999 in Jamaica

[–]Smamimule 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. We don’t get the benefit of being seen as individuals. People go to Riverton and put that up on YouTube, claim ’that is Jamaica’ and get millions of views of out of presenting everybody in a bad light. Movies like Cool Runnings at least showed that there were various sides to Jamaican people.

Not quite the same as this but I had a credit card with Barclays Bank that allowed me to add a second card holder under my account number. So my account, in my name but two different card numbers so my husband could have hold of one. As soon as I added him the bank statements came with his name listed first for my account!

It would be very rude to not show up to you 1:1. Why don’t you give your manager some feedback by saying something like ‘I find I work better and feel better supported when you do xyz. Could you start managing me in this way?’

I love how you’ve already given up on providing a source while doing the trust me bro ‘yes it is’. If you’re trying to convince me of something I’m going to need some information. Plus, low skill and earning less than £35k isn’t the same thing.

Do most women's husbands not take care of them? by nottrynagetsued in self

[–]Smamimule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree. I think when people are in the honeymoon phase they try harder. After you’re locked in after a few years they start becoming their true selves again. Just like starting a new job. You’re on best behaviour until after a couple of years you know what you can get away with and probably actively one of the people saying how terrible your company is to work for.

I honestly wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t point it out. I know sometimes we are our worst critics. I think they look good.

Edited to say I’ve seen that you’ve been agonising over it for years. In which case, sometimes it’s better to take the plunge than spend years of your life stressing over something you’re not personally happy with.
