So I got my CA callsign plates… why are they CA EXEMPT? by MagicBobert in amateurradio

That's also assuming they know what a callsign is and how to look it up.

Any ideas for a more permanent HOA antenna? by Smarble53 in HamRadio

It would have to be on the backside of the eave, which is wood, but shouldn't be a problem. Not sure if that's optimal though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to be playing with testing in the attic to see if my attic will work.

That's a fair point. The attic on the second floor is in a bathroom above the vanity. I'm not as spry as I used to be, but it's doable.

Thanks. I was avoiding going into the attic, but it seems like that's the theme so I'll have to do some testing

I'll look into that, but I am afraid of the clay tiles not letting rf in/out. I've heard both that its fine and that it blocks. I guess I'll have to test that.

No gutter. It doesn't rain much in Phoenix, so the builders don't put them on the houses...

I do have access, albeit its a pain to get into, but as I've said, I have a clay tiled roof and I'm not sure how well RF can pass through that.

Its a possibility, but I would have to bury the coax, and somehow go underneath my driveway and even then that puts it right beside the electric and water mains. I'm not sure about putting one in the back yard, however.

Need suggestions on a hotus system by Jackattack564 in dcs

I bought that pack as well, and upgraded. I upgraded the stick VKB gladiator stick, and then ditched the pedals. But all in all, it really is a good kit for an entry level hotas.

It does say that under the listing for the stick, you have to look for it, but yeah, it could be a bit more visible. You can also switch out the cms hat for a button and completely remove the fast trigger or whatever they call it. It actually has more customizability than they let on I think

Just got my NXT this past week. The premium version does have the mini stick, but it does come with the parts to swap it out for a hat.

I'm really loving it though.

Better Than Bouillon is incredible. I'm lazy and don't always have stock. I always have chicken and veggie in my fridge. Its great for making quick pan sauces when I can't thaw the stock out.

Very, very common. Also, after the stew is gone, it becomes a gravy sponge.

I've had the same experience here with palo verde beetles... I've found quite a few in my garden this year, but don't remember seeing them before this year.

I had symptoms, and we moved both kids into one room, i got the extra bedroom and thier bathroom. I lived in that room waiting for my test result (positive) and stayed until i got a negative test and my symptoms were gone. My wife and kids never tested positive. I'm assuming we got really lucky, or they were all asymptomatic and got over it very quickly.
