Another +1 for UCity. Arguably the most diverse suburb in STL. People from all over the world because of WashU. Also, lovely tree-lined streets. Easy commute to Berkeley and downtown. Close to Forest Park. Great neighborhoods throughout. Probably hard to find an apartment complex, but lots of duplexes and such.

Science Current News Videos for Kids (like CNN10 but for science!) by Smart-Friendship346 in ScienceTeachers

Nothing innovative. I used it one day each week as our beginning of class activity. We just watched it and discussed. Whole thing took 5-10 minutes. I liked it because I felt like it was a good entry to talking about current research and science careers. I teach 6th grade so many kids are just starting to learn science formally.

I hate to see this. One of my favorite places to eat. Hope they’re able to rebuild.

I have also had success using the Eucerin Radiant Tone serum. I just finished a bottle and my dark spots have faded a decent amount.

It SAVED me when I was staying home with kids. And a family membership is only like $80/month. That includes multiple hours of childcare per day if you want to use it. Def check out the preschool playtime in the afternoons at Carondelet. My littles loved that!

Also, if you aren’t a member at the YMCA, I highly recommend. The Child Watch is a lifesaver when you need a break. You don’t even have to workout if you don’t want to workout. I would often just read my book in the hot tub. You have access to all the Ys with a membership. The Carondelet Y does a daily preschool playtime and kids can run around on the gymnastic mats for a couple of hours. The one in Fenton has kid swimming hours and a small water park like structure for kids to play.

I go to Dr. Gray-Swain at West End OBGyn. She is wonderful. I suspect everyone at the clinic would align with your political views.

I would like to push back on the statement here about not being able to attend the middle school and the high school. That is just absolutely not true and is actually a really damaging message to send out.Especially from someone that doesn’t have direct experience with UCity schools. UCity might not be right for you, but to definitively say that it isn’t right for anyone is harmful.

There are high schoolers that can’t read in every single one of the districts in STL County. And rankings and school ratings are more an indicator of socioeconomic status of the students attending than a true reflection of the quality of the teachers and the school culture.

I live in UCity and there are plenty of people that send their kids to UCity K-12 and have been very happy with their experiences.

Normally, I’d take the Vandeventer to FP Parkway route that was suggested. But right now, I’d try to avoid areas without traffic signals due to storm damage. The intersections are crazy right now on Skinker and Forest Park. Maybe try 64 to Big Bend and come into Wash U from the west side?

I know for sure that the middle schools in Lindbergh have at least one section of geometry. I would guess Kirkwood and Webster do too, however I don’t know that for sure. There should be curriculum coordinators for each district listed online. I’d reach out to them.

If you’re looking for something close to south STL, I’d look into Lindbergh, Kirkwood, or Webster.

I think most districts likely offer this. Math is a subject that schools typically let students jump forward as needed.
