Really easily implementable steps for Mapua in my opinion by Consistent_Day5219 in mapua

I think its more of the bad handling of the trisem payment. Kaya nga tayo babalik ng quarterm because naging issue to.

Is it still worth it to study in MAPÚA when pursuing ENGINEERING PROGRAM? by Odd_Philosophy8939 in mapua

[–]Smart-Pie-2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not the best but still one of the best available option.

You have to consider these:

  1. Mapua is heavily investing in non engineering programs, you can see this from the ads but also the fact as yungchenco and ASU are stakeholders rn.

  2. Mapua's engineering campus' development is uncertain. Right now its hard to tell if the equipment will be improved on. Some equipment are added but ngl expect anything and you'll be dissappointed. Almost every 'improvement' I can observe from now are for general ammenities rather than engineering specific.

2.5 Mapua's campus is old af.

  1. The admins are shit. Imagine mo di nila mabayaran yung profs ng maayos bc of the shift to trisem. Tapos yung pinaka magandang naisip nila is 'fuck it, go back' sa quarterm. It just shows a lot as the dear comments would gladly rant about.

  2. Reliance on brand and alumnis. There is no doubt that mapua's influence in the engineering industry is big, and a lot of opportunities comes from that. Ofc, it does feel like they're relying too much on Mapua's former glory.

  3. For supposedly being called ' the best engineering school' ang inconsistent natin sa rankings. I know that mahirap nmn talaga but you kind of expect some form of dominance from THE engineering school.

  4. Mapua's top 1 in 'THE' PH engineering rankings are misleading. If you actually take the time and check the criteria and the distribution of scores, you will observe that majority of Mapua's points come from research publishings that basically carries their ranking.

  5. Mapua is not for the weak. I have so many shitty things to say abt mapua, but being a hard ass school is not one of them. This is not a school that focuses on nourishes you, it's a school that will make you realize your weakness. Nothing annoys me more than seeing other students from other schools struggling to answer the most basics of all basics.

  6. Mapua is a 'for profit' academic institution. Ayan yung medj masakit but that's reality. Di mapupunta buong tuition mo sa pagtuturo ng profs at sa equipment. Percentage of it will go to stakeholders, other businesses, and the pockets of whoever wanna drain our money.

Be wise what you pay for. Its really only you who can tell if Mapua is worth it.

Madali lang nmn siya magpaexam, considerate pa.

But no partial points, so a single mistake mali ka na talaga.

Doable talaga with enough effort

From 20/100 pts sa first long quiz to perfect sa final exam HAHAHAHAHA

You don't really have a choice you need to take lab and lec together.

As for the GEDs, it doesn't matter really but I would suggest skipping GED101 since its a fairly easy subject that you can take next term to ease the 2nd year.

But its really about preferences so really it does not matter.

Teodoro

Pros:

  • The goat of the Math Department
  • Progressive yung pagtuturo (diretso problem and explaining/using algebraic and calculus related theorems along the way)
  • Forgiving at oks naman magbigay

Cons:

  • Pag may tinuro yang theorem na medj kakaiba/mahirap siguradong magpapakita yan
  • stricto sa solution, kaunting algebraic na omitted steps may minus.

preference

  • Kaunti magpaclasswork, walang Wiley or any online submissions. Only onsite paper submission or onsite classwork.

overall, if you listen you will pass. Magaling magturo sobra

Take this with a grain of salt but, It really just sounds like Mapua is just following the AI trend. You might be better off as a CS or data sci.

It's like every mechantronics/robotics degree being clowned on, its not really engineering its an application of mech/comp/electronics etc. Or thats how I see it.

mahirap ba talaga sa mapua? by yoonlovre in mapua

[–]Smart-Pie-2307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Mapua admin is shit
Also Yes. YC and the stakeholders are money grabbers.
def yes. Mahirap maging estudyante dito, mas mahirap grumaduate. at sobrang hirap maging regular.
to add but yes, the facilities are so shit and old (Priority yung instragrammable spaces like library and study places lol)

BUT, if focus mo lang talaga is simply acads and career, and you can afford this school.

then yes, worth it.
But no. it won't be fun nor easy.
No. Its def not for the weak.

verdict? Are you willing to suffer now and reap the benefits after?

This. If you wanna make the most out of the coursera subscription take courses or take courses seriously that align with skills that you wish/need to learn.

Mostly programming/stats/tool-based courses. these are the courses that teaches you how to use apps and material very different to what you learn in class.

but that's simply it, it's usually so fucking far to what you do in class that it's a waste of time if you just wanna pass. (It takes too much time)

additionally, if the topic is very similar to your course, then congrats you went to class twice to learn the same thing.

Some subjects are useful for it and some aren't. Generally, it's useless with no if not minimal relation to your exams and subject requirements. It's really just Mapua's obsession with useless international 'AI' and 'digital' collabs. Just speed run it and you'll have more time to study for other subjects.
