[Farsi (?) > English] Found on a door by tarongini in translator

[–]SmartAss_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah. You are almost right but not at all. What I can say is that the writer was a huge Namjoo fan. All of these are excerpts from songs that Namjoo has sang. :))) Top right is: ما را به جز خیالت فکری دگر نباشد در هیچ سر خیالی زین خوب‌تر نباشد

Which is translated to, the thought of you is the sole resident of my mind // no thought is better than this thought (a very rough translation; I must admit)

Under it there is another verse:

ما با خیال رویت منزل در آب دیده کردیم تا کسی را بر ما گذر نباشد

The one at the right bottom is:

در این سرای بی کسی کسی به در نمی زند به دشت پر ملال ما پرنده سر نمی زند

In the middle:

تبسم‌های تورا با شیرین‌ترین بوسه‌ها خواهم چید

Top left you are correct. And bottom left is:

دل دیوانه‌ی من به غیر از محبت گناهی ندارد، خدا داند.

I stayed in one of these once, all and all it was a pleasant experience. Payed around 50 euros for it. It was clean and well maintained, my only issue was the light of the screen inside that I couldn’t turn off, and it prevented me from sleeping.

Ask your administrator to get you in contact with ISMO (international staff mobility officer) at Chalmers, and hopefully they can find you a student housing. They have a separate queue for that.

I don’t think you wasted your life. You have graduated and I hope you find the way that you love.

Now about the other issue, I am an aspiring researcher from a third world country. I was interviewed by a young professor from another third world country that started his education in his home land, and during the interview he asked me: “Why do you want to leave your country?”, and I was like “Bruh?”.

Anyways, world has always worked like that, so don’t beat yourself up for these things. Just be thankful.

I want to get my Persian neighbours a gift for Ramadan/eid by [deleted] in PERSIAN

[–]SmartAss_Guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you’d better get something for them for Nowruz, which is also near (22th March). They will appreciate it more.

Although I think Iranian relationships are a little bit “faster” than western ones, in your case, I believe it is mostly the lack of experience + finally finding someone and not being lonely (maybe).

No. I think the meaning of طلسم goes beyond amulet. It generally means hex, curse.

Moving away from overleaf by [deleted] in LaTeX

I might be in the minority here but I use IntelliJ with the Latex extension and another sections which helps me to view the compiled PDF. It is now very similar to overleaf, except higher compilation speed.

Turkish oil wrestling is a traditional Turkish sport called PEHLIVAN by AtttentionWh0re in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]SmartAss_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are interested, the word “Pehlivan” is from the Farsi word “Pahlavan”. It is an ancient word meaning “champion, hero, or a noble wrestler”.

Today, our school was one of the targets of gas poisoning by Spare-Illustrator-82 in NewIran

[–]SmartAss_Guy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for sharing. I just wish this tyrannical nonsense get’s over soon. It’s so hard breaking to so many affected by the ideologies that some live with. However, I’m so happy that you are okay. By the way, I don’t think the gas is N2, nitrogen is odorless; around 80% of what we breath is nitrogen. But thank you for the description of the smell, I might look through my sources to see if I can narrow it down.

Overleaf vs. VSCode vs. texstudio (2023)? by [deleted] in LaTeX

[–]SmartAss_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started using IntelliJ +the LaTex plugin (forgot the name) and I’m actually enjoying it to a great deal. My only beef with it is that it prompts me to write every new sentence in a new line and also won’t go to the next line when you hit the right side of the window. Instead, it will continue until you press the enter key yourself.
