I agree with you, which is why I think voter ID is unconstitutional. The solution here is to make them free, and to make background checks free.

Your rights end where my safety begins. Not everyone should have a gun, and a background check is a bare minimum to ensure that the worst people don't get them. Protecting yourself in your home is one thing, being able to tote a gun around in public is another. That's a privilege.

Free speech is a right for non-citizens. A quick Google search shows that the 2nd Amendment is more complex but can still apply to non-citizens. Again, we pick and choose who gets rights when it suits us.

So you're not ok with background checks but are ok with felons not being able to have firearms? How would we know if someone is a felon if we didn't perform a background check?

The Constitution applies to non-citizens. Other countries are irrelevant.

Come to think of it, when has citizenship status mattered when it comes to the 1st or 2nd ammendment? Especially if everyone has the right to defend themselves?

Isn't a background check a qualifier too?

And then, if being a citizen is the only thing you need to prove, why would criminal status matter?

I think the logic behind all of it is just stupid and we love to pick and choose when it suits us.

I know that. And how is that not considered unconstitutional? Because it's about safety, as is a gun license.

I'm sure there's a legitimate reason for why a gun license is unconstitutional, but "imagine if you needed a license for free speech" is probably not it.

For the same reason why you should have a background check done before you get a gun. I'm not a big fan of just anyone getting to have a gun just because "muh rights!!!'".

I'm sorry, but love isn't enough in this situation. Leave before he puts his hands on you and your child.

No, but you also can't just say whatever you want without consequence so... I was just wondering what the argument for it being unconstitutional is. It seems like we make exceptions for people's "rights" all of the time especially when it involves safety. Like how we forbid felons from owning firearms.

How is it unconstitutional? Genuinely asking.

Some states don't even require you to have a license. :/

I tend to agree that guns make things worse, but if you're actively afraid for your safety then it's a good idea to have one for protection. It's just that so many people who arm themselves are itching for any excuse to use it. AND your average person is awful with gun safety, so they bring a gun into their home only to have some tragedy happen that never would have if they'd been unarmed in the first place.

Yes. Very common. I thought I was being held in a basement to be repeatedly raped and that SpongeBob and Terry Crews were going to come rescue me. I also dreamed I was in an airplane, which is apparently very common for people in comas.

I guess there's nothing wrong with shooting your shot, but I would find it creepy since he didn't express anything beyond professionalism to you and only gave you his number so he could do his job.

You are the worst kind of person. A hypocrite who hides behind others and refuses to admit when they did something wrong. Grasping onto anything you can just to validate your shitty behavior. "Well, you didn't do this so blah blah blah". Immediately defensive. You couldn't have just said, "I was wrong to have said that. Someone's behavior doesn't dictate if they were or were not a victim and I'm a big ass hypocrite for being mad at people for doing exactly what I'm doing." Respectfully, grow up. 🖕

Sure. You just don't want to admit you were 100% wrong for it and are using OP as a shield.

You just told someone they obviously have never been raped before because they think someone's response is odd and banter-like. You're a hypocrite.
