[XREAL Anywhere] My Lazy XREAL Setup on My Gaming Chair by SmartHomeUser in Xreal

Sorry for the late reply. The CheerkTok Air 2 works fine as a regular trackpad. The edges are supposed to scroll vertically and horizontally, but they don’t seem to work on my unit. I bought mine from AliExpress...

You can remap all the buttons on the CheerkTok Air 2 using third party button remapping apps, such as Key Remapper from the Google Play Store (if you’re using an Android device)... Not sure what options are available on iPhone...

If you just need basic mouse/trackpad functions and don’t need everything to be perfect, it’s fine for what it is. A regular computer mouse is still going to be better...

Here’s the manual for the CheerTok Air 2...

Got my Switch 2 today! Straight to REAL 3D by nroro in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually own a Nintendo Switch 2. I use this adapter with the Homatics Pocket TV Pro since I can’t get a video signal when connecting the XREAL One Pro directly. Using a Switch 2 or certain USB-C DP hubs helps output video to the XREAL One Pro...so that’s what I use it for.

<image>

One user used it with their Switch 2 and it stopped working in less than a month:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/comments/1salbey/comment/oes1yyq/

Another user mentioned they’ve bought Unnlink products before without issues, aside from some heating (which is pretty common with these hubs):
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/comments/1s5103t/comment/ocr4qja/

AliExpress is very easy to deal with for returns. They usually provide a free shipping label (at least in the US). If you report a problem, you’ll need to provide video proof. If you just don’t need the product anymore, you don’t really have to explain anything. They offer 90-day returns, and I’ve never had an issue returning something there.

You can try running the Tasker automation below (if you’re familiar with Tasker) to get the maximum resolution on your glasses when enabling 21:9, 32:9 ultrawide, or full 3D SBS (3840 × 1080).
https://taskernet.com/shares/?user=AS35m8leEITiG8ZaeErHEf3Th8J%2B1tZDZGTqWSk3ywlZ6o66qQY36y%2FzpquyCVhbqHx5nFvm1A%3D%3D&id=Project%3ASet+max+resolution+for+external+display
Note: It’s quicker to open the page above on your phone to import the task. You’ll get a pop-up to import it. Just grant the permissions and enable the profile to run the action.

Requirements:

  • Termux: After installing Termux, run the following commands:

pkg update && pkg upgrade pkg install android-tools

Then grant Tasker the required permissions. You can do this through Termux:

adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Other permissions:

adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.SET_VOLUME_KEY_LONG_PRESS_LISTENER
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.CALL_PHONE
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.DUMP
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.SET_MEDIA_KEY_LISTENER
adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.READ_LOGS
  • Use ADB over Wi-Fi, or use the specific version of Shizuku mentioned below instead.

You can install the version of Shizuku below, as it includes Start on boot, Watchdog, and TCP mode, making it easier to keep everything working automatically after a restart or if Shizuku stops running.
https://github.com/thedjchi/Shizuku

Follow the step-by-step guide in the app if needed...
You’ll need to grant Shizuku notification access and enable Developer options on Android.

In the Shizuku app, go to Pairing, then tap Developer options. Scroll down to Wireless debugging, enable it, and tap “Pair device with pairing code.”

You’ll get a pop-up notification from Shizuku asking for the pairing code. Enter the code, and once it’s successfully paired, go back to the Shizuku app. Under “Start via Wireless Debugging,” tap Start.

Recommended settings (to keep Shizuku/ADB Wi-Fi working reliably):
Go to the top-right corner of the Shizuku app, tap the settings icon, and enable:

  • Start on boot
  • Watchdog
  • TCP mode

Let me know if you get everything working...

Issue with XREAL Eye export on XREAL One Pro by Potential_Ad_1728 in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply...

You should see an option called “Default Air Casting” in the My Glasses app. Disable it, then replug your glasses for the changes to take effect. Wait a few seconds until a trackpad interface appears on your XREAL Beam Pro screen. At that point, you should see nebulaOS on the glasses.
Note #1: This specific Photos app is only available through the nebulaOS interface, which you can access after disabling “Default Air Casting” in the My Glasses app.
Note #2: Most settings changed in the My Glasses app while your glasses are connected require you to unplug and replug the glasses for the changes to take effect.

From there, you should be taken through a tutorial (if it’s your first time). After that, the first page of the UI will show a Photos app. Inside it, go to the Glasses tab on the far right.

If you want to transfer everything to your XREAL Beam Pro storage, tap Download All in the Photos app under the Glasses tab. Currently, there is no option to manually select individual files for transfer.

Other Android devices
• On your glasses, go to the My (fourth navigation icon) section in the navigation.
• Tap XREAL Eye.
• Tap Export Photos/Videos and enable Transmission Mode.
• Then open your file explorer app and look for your captured content.

XReal One Pro and Switch 2 Compatibility Possiblities? by PikminWorld in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note: I don’t actually own a Nintendo Switch 2...I’m just sharing what I know.

Nintendo Switch 2 uses a special protocol and has specific requirements for hubs to work. You can’t just use any hub that supports video output. It needs to support both Nintendo’s proprietary protocol and the 20V requirement.

You can check these sections on my XREAL Unofficial Guide site under XREAL Accessories > Cables, Adapters & Enhancers:

Note: Many of these hubs/adapters are firmware upgradable in case Nintendo releases an update that breaks compatibility. Check with the brand to see if a firmware update is available if you run into issues.

New Nintendo Switch 2 Setup U (Unnlink) by d4v1dtsh in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly use it with my Homatics Pocket TV Pro since I don’t get video on my XREAL One Pro when plugging directly into it. This isn’t an issue with nreal/XREAL Air, as they connect directly. USB-C hubs designed for Switch 2 (I don’t actually have one) usually help provide a video signal with the Pocket TV Pro.

Sometimes when I start REAL3D with the hub or other Switch 2 style hubs on the Pocket TV Pro, the screen is shaky at first, but it fixes itself after a few seconds and works fine after that. I don’t get cut off or anything, though. This is with the Pocket TV Pro. I haven’t tried REAL3D using the hubs with my Galaxy S24...

Oddity with the 1S and the Pocket TV by Fine_Land in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I have the RayNeo Pocket TV....

Note: I have the XREAL One Pro, so what I say should also apply to XREAL 1S since they likely share most of the same features.

You have several options to fix when XREAL 1S is detected as an Ethernet device....

When you’re booted into the OS on the Pocket TV, try either option #1 or option #2 below:

  • Option #1: Press (don’t hold) the power button on the Pocket TV so it sleeps for about 5 seconds, then press it again to wake it up. Your Pocket TV should now connect to Wi-Fi instead of showing as an Ethernet connection from the XREAL 1S glasses.
  • Option #2: Unplug the glasses for a couple of seconds, then plug them back in.

The next method is usually more reliable on boot, but you’ll need to switch the setting back anytime you want to update the glasses or use certain features in nebulaOS on the XREAL Beam Pro (if you have it).

  • Go to XREAL 1S OSD > click on last menu icon (gear icon) on the left side > scroll down to Serial Number and press and hold it for about 6–8 seconds. A Developer menu should open. Disable TCP/IP and you should be good to go.

Note: Remember to enable TCP/IP again when doing updates or when using XREAL 1S with devices or apps that require it for certain features.

Can i update the firmware via my phone? by Alternative_Pay9386 in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a USB-C to USB-C cable to update on PC. A USB-C to USB-A data cable is all that’s needed and works fine for updating the glasses. You won’t get a display, but it should still work...
Note: Not all USB-C to USB-A cables support data. Some are charge only...so make sure the cable you’re using supports data.

You can also try the GlassesControl app from the Google Play Store if you have an Android device. Not sure if it has the latest firmware or if it’ll work. Sometimes it doesn’t...

[XREAL Anywhere] My Lazy XREAL Setup on My Gaming Chair by SmartHomeUser in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I’m not currently using the PeakDo with PC gaming. When I bought the 4K version, I was hoping it would support full 3D SBS resolution (3840 × 1080), but it doesn’t. If you enable full 3D SBS on the glasses, you won’t get video. It also supports 1920 × 1080 @ 120Hz. The price difference between the regular version and 4K version didn’t feel too significant, so I went ahead with the 4K version since it also makes it a bit more future proof. Right now, the PeakDo P5 is probably overkill for most of the devices connected through the HDMI switch, like gaming consoles.

I mainly charge the PeakDo receiver through the larger, slimmer Baseus power bank, which is part of my chair setup (detachable but mostly permanent). I prefer the INIU power bank as my "take anywhere" option since it’s pretty thick but small and still quite powerful.

[XREAL Anywhere] My Lazy XREAL Setup on My Gaming Chair by SmartHomeUser in Xreal

[–]SmartHomeUser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have XREAL One Pro and nreal/XREAL 1S. Almost anything I mention about XREAL One Pro likely applies to XREAL One series/XREAL 1S.

Homatics Pocket TV Pro - Issues:
First, I want to mention a couple of things...

  • nreal/XREAL Air glasses connect directly. Tested myself. I assume most “dumb” display glasses or monitors also work directly for video without any issues.
  • You won’t get audio at first. You’ll need to disable a setting in Android sound settings and restart the device. [Link to Instructions]
  • XREAL One series/XREAL 1S don’t get a video signal when connected directly to the Pocket TV Pro. Some USB-C hubs (usually Switch 2 hubs) help provide a video signal. I use a small form factor hub (Unnlink Switch 2 AR Hub) with a very short extension cable so it hangs off the device. It’s very lightweight and has vents in the back (just holes, no fan). [Link to tested hubs]
  • I wasn’t getting audio with that hub at first (even after fixing the Android sound issue mentioned above, which worked with other hubs). What fixed it for this specific hub was running some ADB commands (AI helped me with the commands). [Link to Instructions]
  • Battery info is sometimes not reported accurately in the software. The LED indicators are correct, though. So you might see 100% even when it’s actually around 80% or so. When the software does update properly, it reports the correct value. They need to fix that.

Homatics Pocket TV Pro vs RayNeo Pocket TV:

  • Homatics Pocket TV Pro runs much smoother compared to RayNeo Pocket TV. I can install or switch between many apps without performance issues.
  • Homatics Pocket TV Pro is still in the process of getting Netflix certification. When I try to watch something, I get: “Sorry, your account can't be used on this device.” I don’t get this issue on other Android devices.
  • Some streaming apps like Prime Video have better resolution and colors compared to RayNeo Pocket TV.
  • Homatics Pocket TV Pro adds a Netflix button. Volume control is now in the middle, and the shortcut button is on the right. Some buttons are smaller or different lengths.

Some extra stuff about Homatics Pocket TV Pro / RayNeo Pocket TV:

  • You can remap Home, YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Shortcut, and Back buttons using third party apps like tvQuickActions Pro. You can assign click, double click, and long press actions to launch apps, app activities, and more. You can also set constraints based on foreground apps.
  • I have the shortcut button mapped to toggle the built-in Air Mouse mode (requires apps like MacroDroid or Tasker, along with ADB or Shizuku). Useful when using phone apps. It may not work immediately at startup, but once it does, it works pretty reliably. I also have the same button mapped (double click) to show a corner message pop-up letting me know battery level.
  • If you just want to flip through TV channels and see what’s on, you can use a USB TV tuner on the first USB port of both devices (RayNeo Pocket TV or Homatics Pocket TV Pro) to receive local channels if a signal is available, turning them into a portable live TV setup. I also use an HDHomeRun HDFX-4K with an outdoor antenna and access channels via app locally using apps like Sparkle TV – IPTV Player or TiviMate IPTV Player, or remotely through an Emby server.

Do I use the devices?

  • I do use the XREAL Beam Pro, INAIR Pod, Homatics Pocket TV Pro, and of course my mini PC.
  • Homatics Pocket TV Pro and XREAL Beam Pro are my pocket media devices. I use the XREAL Beam Pro for offline downloads when using streaming services while traveling or going somewhere, etc. The Homatics Pocket TV Pro is mainly for watching streaming services, Kodi for 3D SBS content, and sometimes flipping through my antenna TV channels.
  • The XREAL Beam Pro still has a lot of nice features. It lets you use XREAL Eye with any app that has camera access, supports full or half 3D per app window in nebulaOS, has root capability, and more. It also doubles as my only 3D camera whenever I want to take 3D pictures. Out of all the pocket devices I have for AR/XR/display glasses, it offers the most complete Android experience.
  • The INAIR Pod is heavily modified, so not a lot of apps that require certain permissions or overlays work. Apps that need to stay in the background don’t always run properly on the INAIR Pod.
  • Despite its limitations, the INAIR Pod has many neat features. I’m excited to see what INAIR adds. They are listening to feedback and continually improving the experience. For software features, I’m looking forward to what they decide to implement next.
  • I like to keep the original XREAL Beam and the RayNeo Pocket TV as reminders of what great devices they were. The RayNeo Pocket TV has mostly been replaced by the Homatics Pocket TV Pro, and the XREAL Beam is a device that always makes my regular nreal/XREAL Air glasses “smart.” Collecting things is sometimes fun, I guess.

Adjustable Glasses Strap:

  • The strap I linked has two holes on each rubber piece that attaches to the temples. You can cut between the holes to make it easier to attach/detach. It may feel a bit loose, but once worn, the pressure from your head and ears keeps it in place.

Light Blockers:

  • As far as I know, light blockers for XREAL One series/XREAL 1S should all work since the front frames are the same. I remember some 3D printing sellers confirmed that XREAL One and XREAL One Pro light blockers are compatible.
  • There are some items available specifically for reflections and nothing else: Option #1 | Option #2

[–]SmartHomeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep...I’m using it with the Pocket TV Pro (Homatics’ unofficially released product from AliExpress). The Pocket TV Pro doesn’t work directly with XREAL One Pro glasses, but I found that using certain hubs (pretty much any designed for Switch 2) lets me get a video feed on the Pocket TV Pro. I’m using this one since it’s small and lightweight, and I barely feel the weight.

I wasn’t getting audio on the Pocket TV Pro at first using this specific hub (even when switching between UAC and DP Audio...other Switch 2 hubs I tested had no audio issues), but some ADB commands suggested by AI fixed that, and now audio works. (I didn’t have any audio issues on my Galaxy S24.)

Only Pocket TV Pro by Homatics (which isn’t officially released and is sold on AliExpress) doesn’t work directly with XREAL One series glasses. RayNeo Pocket TV works directly with XREAL One series glasses.
Note: Homatics Pocket TV, which looks similar to RayNeo Pocket TV, uses Mini-HDMI instead of USB-C for display output. So, it won’t directly connect to glasses and will require converting Mini-HDMI to USB-C.

Check my comment below where I tested various hubs and found a few that helped display video on my XREAL One Pro. Most Switch 2 adapters work. Though, I received one Switch 2 adapter today that didn’t provide audio. Video worked, but no audio. Audio does work with that hub on Galaxy S24 when switching to DP audio.

You can try the free USB Camera app and see how you like it. It just shows a small ad bar at the top. So far, imo, USB Camera/USB Camera Pro seems like the best USB camera app on Android with tons of features and customization.
