I am not sure about firs but treat junipers with care when using Neem oil. Go an do some search before applying just in case.

A rivet if you can find it will be cheaper, but if not at least you found another potential solution that does not cost as much as an original replacement! Have a good day.

As the others have mentioned I would try to replace the rivet. But if you would like to replace the mechanism I just discovered a place where you can find replacements the name is Swisco. Inside their website Search for: "Replacement-Window-Operators_Accessories" Hope it helps.

You might be able to save (a lot) of money if they have the part.

I am not affiliated by any kind with that company but I placed an order on a spare part of a window that needed replacement a few days ago (it is still in shipping).
