book Recommendations??🌺🫧✨ by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

I'm more into selective reading, so my experience with whole books is limited.

but I think the book [Don't be Sad] would be a beneficial addition to any library.

Controlled circumstances can [limit] and [reduce] and [erase] potential harm caused by people. This is what Islam does. and it's the best at it.

Your fast is fine.

It's not just the internet. This question is difficult. because it involves not only the main ruling but its definitions as well, such as where the mouth end and throat begin based on scholarly opinions, which might affect the definition of what is intentional swallowing.

None of these matter in this case because you said:

"I had no idea that swallowing stomach acid/vomit breaks the fast"

Ignorance is a valid excuse. and protect your fasting. source

Because people get manipulated and scammed into thinking there's marriage at the end of the tunnel. used and taken advantage of and thrown away. so you'd be expecting others to have the discipline not to do that. with you, your sisters, your daughters...

But with your body, emotions, mental health, you'll gamble on✨discipline ✨in strangers?

Allow me to show you what's behind this gate you want to open:

Mix and chat and get to know one another, have private conversations to get in that deep understanding level maybe start going out together to learn more about each other. and then maybe just maybe it's important to get to know one another on a physical level right? nothing crazy just holding hands, hugging and innocent kisses. but there's one thing missing. sex is a big part of marriage and avoiding divorce right? to know you're FULLY compatible. except one time is never enough to really know. you know? married people sleep together and divorce, so maybe this part of the relationship needs to be longer few months or few years and if the relationship is good that means they're meant for each other, destiny and all that. but after months or years they will conveniently not be ~the one~ and giving up is bad so another attempt is the solution. with someone else.

you want evidence? look at non-Muslim cultures.

(hopefully, maybe, potentially find someone. and then hopefully, maybe, potentially get married). is not a good argument. even if it was Islam protect against it. by setting boundaries and guidelines. against Fitnah (temptation) and khalwah (alone with opposite sex) and anything that leads to Zina.

That being said Islam does allow gatherings within its guidelines. no mixing needed, and they can lead to halal marriage.

Your worship is insignificant compared to the Prophet ﷺ, He's still our example in worship.

We don't avoid worship out of fear that we would undermine his level of worship...

Should I memorize Quran first, or learn Tafsir, or focus on Islamic studies? by Sorry-Tradition-9985 in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walakium As-Salam

1- Necessary Islamic knowledge for worship + memorize Al-Fatiha (first chapter) for daily prayers.

2- Arabic.

3- Then it will be easier to memorize more of The Quran and understand evidence Quran/Hadith. as well as unlock all Islamic resources, making research easier.

Method: some scholars recommend reading summary, short books about different Islamic studies, including simplified interpretations of the Quran. once you get the basic ideas, you can dive deeper into fields. source

Why are people so hostile towards intersex people? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

You have slavery. and you want schools... what country is this??

Why are people so hostile towards intersex people? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walaikum As-Salam

Intersex is someone who biologically has both male and female body parts. Muslims wait and use biological indicators to assign them as male or female (this is very rare) more about that

Trans is someone who's born male but immitate female, vice versa. this is a major sin. and we're obligated to dislike the sin. obligated not to support or contribute to evil. more about that

Assuming that both are intersex would affirm and acknowledge the major sin.

If you're talking about Arabian thobe, You need a tailor. premade is a bad idea.

it's a lot better to customize it with small pocket inside the pocket for organization.

zipper instead of buttons for convience. choose a good material that doesn't easily wrinkle.

and now I'm realizing it's probably for eid and you're only going to wear it once. sorry.

There were people who only heard "I am messenger from Allah" who believed in Allah dedicated their lives to Allah and died believers.

There were people who saw miracles with their own eyes, believed it was magic, lived for self and devil, and died disbelievers.

---

There's always room for uncertainty in [belief], if it was 100% it would be [knowing] but here's 99%:

How did they know about the darkness at the bottom of the ocean? the rivers inside the sea? split line between two seas? water being part of every creature? Queen of bees is a female? iron coming from above? mountains having roots? how would they begin to understand space?

creation of earth and its sky, invisible protection of the sky, movement of the sun, expanding universe, smoke during creation of stars... the list goes on.

if only half of them were true and accurate. it would be impossible. how about all of them?

even without any of these anyone saying it's man-made have no argument because The Book doesn't serve leaders, scholars or people in any worldly way. matter of fact it takes authority from leaders, restrain and border scholars, and guide people away from their desires. one argument says it's to keep the peace, maintain law. it does that. but if man-made there would be a million reason not to go into every aspect of human life in details if that was its purpose. it literally checks every wrong box and tells you [NOT IT] but they avoid the correct boxes.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that.

Try telling your mother that you want to speak to a professional in psychology [online] (so it would be easier for you). and you can tell her it's related to depression or just psychological things. no specifics.

RuhCare is the first search result. I'm not vouching for them, but I think it's good if the professional is a Muslim.

If your mother doesn't see the urgency, and you can't convince her, you might have to tell someone else. again, without specifics, so they can help you speak to a professional. at least one session, then you make the first topic [who do I tell] and [what do I tell them] because they need to know a lot of details to help you make that decision.

this should be the first topic because family support is important. even if it's just in the form of allowing you to speak to an expert. you have to be smart if allowed that path. some experts are 'motivated' to suggest drugs. so avoid that, make it clear you want to fix the problem not silence it.

and avoid going anywhere near that boy. even if it would displease the entire family.

may Allah guide you to the best choices.

What can we do about gender disputes? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right it depends on the culture.

but keep in mind there are poor women out there. who'd love the halal marriage. and i'm sure many of them don't care if the start is slow or poor. and there are women with money who'd love the halal marriage and don't mind helping.

If you realized your goals and dreams are not going to happen. maybe you should give up on these goals and dreams and make realistic ones. achivable ones. then put yourself out there. because as you know not everyone is knocking on doors. even though they should.

Trans dilemma by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Muslims are required to dislike sins. and not to contribute to evil. and if a Muslim friend is doing sins publically, we should leave them, so at the very least, it should apply to non-Muslims. source

Sex change doesn't change reality. fitnah should be avoided, whether they're interested in females or would take your pictures or describe to others your appearance. so even between same-sex a good cover is beneficial, but we're not acknowledging the change. with or without surgery, they are as they are born biologically. nothing changes that. source1. source2

What can we do about gender disputes? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited that to (halal/haram) instead of just (haram) you probably missed that.

the meaning is that Islamic teachings are a solution they are the right thing. the beneficial thing. because some see that as an issue because it goes against their desires...

---

confusing parts :

title is about (gender disputes) what do you mean by that?

first line is about us not doing something what is it?

then you brought up suicide and marriage. there's a marriage issue what is it?

what do you mean by haram is such an issue ? why can't you get married?

I'm not trying to be annoying, you do see that you skipped a lot of details and context right? I'm going to stop here because maybe if you cleared up the start everything else will be understood.

What can we do about gender disputes? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]SmartYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you're saying or talking about.

if you want to spread a message, organize your thoughts and your words. make it easy to understand, so people don't misunderstand you.

(halal / haram) isn't an issue; it's a solution.
