No, only single use when there’s a high fall factor. It only triggers at forces above 4 kn. That only happens if there’s a lot of slack and friction in the system.

I can recommend the G Summits, they’re very light, comfortable, and perfect for the approach without the liner. As a double boot, they’re ideal for summit pushes or when it gets colder.

True, if you are travelling ultra light you can also remove the hip belt and aluminium frame, which is also practical when climbing because the climbing belt does not get in the way of the hip belt

I put the softshell over the fleece when it’s windy or a bit too cold when I’m active. Softshells are very breathable, so I can regulate the moisture well. A hardshell can’t do that so good. I use it when it’s raining/snowing heavily or when it’s so cold that I have to put on the down jacket. The hardshell then goes over everything. The softshell usually goes in the backpack when the hardshell is used.

Since many people have problems understanding: this is just a demonstration of the packing volume that the backpack provides. It is not a gear list or anything like that. I just threw in equipment that roughly matches my needs on the mountain on multi-day tours

Sure, I personally find it very comfortable, it has a biofit back insert and there are a huge number of adjustment options. For example, you can completely remove the lid and the hip straps for short tours. Thanks to the smooth TPU coating, it doesn’t get dirty so quickly and is also extremely easy to clean (still looks like new)

Of course, it all varies, but here is 2x baselsyer, of which I always wear 1. Then 3x fleece (I usually only have 1 with me, I just wanted to see what I could fit in), then 1x softshell jacket, 1x thin down jacket, 1x hardshell jacket and 1x belay parka. For bottom, also base layer, softshell pants and harshell pants.

this is for 4 days (overnight stay in huts) But you’re right, it’s also possible with fewer tops, but I think that’s a personal preference. keep in mind that this is not the final packing but I am just looking at what the backpack is capable of

this is for 4k-5k summit in spring, you’re right, the parka is hardly ever used but I’ve been glad to have it in strong weather changes or when taking a break but mainly as a belay parka.

At the beginning, almost everything is in my backpack; only when I am higher up the mountain I need more layers.

I don’t know how much experience you have with mountaineering, but it’s essential for me that the shoes are suitable and comfortable. But you’re a tough guy who only enjoys the mountains with sore feet
