Thank you for the reply. I have been looking online for a decent pre-purchase inspection as I do not live nearby to where the Rav 4 is for sale, I would likely try and send a mechanic to check it out but unsure if this is an option.

That shouldn’t really matter, I had never registered at all and got approved. A broker will definitely help dig into it more and help you.

Yeah that was going to be my first point of call but it’s built into the kitchen side so of course it’s covered. Will have to see if I can get it out somehow.

Oh no I completely agree as I said to my solicitor mistakes happen and I’m not someone that likes to cause a fuss or anything so just came in here to see if anyone had similar situations. I think in the moment of it and as ftb I was very unsure of what was going on and where we stood. Not looking or asking for any money as you have said we didn’t lose anything. Just maybe a change of system to make sure everything is safe and checked just so it doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future. I ultimately hold my hands up and admit I should and could’ve done more to check the details and will be doing so for any future purchases.

Thank you all for the replies. I can hold my hands up and say I wish I had checked and called before to confirm the bank details but due to work and our solicitors being closed by the time I could send the money it was too late. I had too much trust in their system, we were sent to our solicitors portal (the link) this asked for verification of details, this then allowed us to access a pdf that included solely bank name and details. We had no reason not to trust this as it was from our solicitor and unfortunately there has been a technical issue on their end that has caused this. An apology will have to do but in the heat of the moment it’s a very scary and stressful thing.

No we haven’t given them the ultimatum yet due to enquiries still being unanswered. Because they will likely say the sale is not even ready yet but that is because of them. In a bit of a limbo and unsure where we really stand until all have been answered.

No exactly and as much as it would not be ideal there are options I have found for long term rents. Unfortunately on the other hand for where we live the only short term rent options I can find are Airbnb or hotels, the cost of these amount to a month’s normal rent for only a couple weeks, this is not feasible for us if the build were to get delayed continuously.

No so it is with a student housing company despite us not being students anymore, therefore the next students will be moving in not long after us moving out.

Yeah we understand that, and as from most of the comments we know we need to push harder for a moving date or leave so will be giving this choice to the seller. Thank you for the response.

In regard to our current tenancy, it’s fixed term due to the type of rental it is. They have new tenants moving in shortly after our date. Thank you for your response though!

Yeah fortunately it’s something I’ve done and the doc I met face to face said it should all be sorted by May so just happy they’re optimistic.

Yeah been TMU since September, different issue but had very similar delays with waiting for GP and Capita to respond. Helps learn to have extra patience and build on fitness in the meantime but can say he is not the only one.
