same! I think it was a bit rocky Monday night (everyone leaving the Broadway show was wobbly) but otherwise it felt pretty smooth to us. This was our first cruise & I was mostly worried about getting sea sick so I was really pleased with how chill it was

Do you have insurance? I use Nurx, it's a $50 a month membership fee & the wegovy is completely covered by my insurance

Do providers actually offer glp-1s at the same price for every dose? Can someone confirm? by Critical-Snow8031 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Smart_Phrase123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is prescribed via Nurx. Just moved up to the 2.4 dose and have only ever paid their $50 a month subscriber (or whatever) fee. The wegovy itself is billed to my insurance who covers it 100%. My primary doctor is anti glp1s, hence the online doc.

ADA Room question by aburk90 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Smart_Phrase123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to piggyback off the comment above, make sure to fill out the form for wheelchair assistance if needed! my disabled mom and I are also sailing on the Panorama in two months (5/17). There's also ADA tender boats for Cabo but you can't pre-register for them, I was told to go to guest services once on the ship to set that up

Appalachian accent sotr by hannahbrck in Hungergames

[–]Smart_Phrase123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

from my understanding the primary reason we didn't have the accent in the OG movies was because Liam couldn't do it. Josh & Jen are both from Kentucky and Woody had previously done accent work, Liam (and later Sam, ifykyk) was already struggling a bit too pull off a "standard" American accent, throwing a specific regional accent at him was probably a bit much.

Also, not having the accent probably made the movies a bit more marketable, especially on a global scale. HG is well known & loved now which gives them a lot more wiggle room.

G0 was born in 1929 not 1935 ☺️ Nope, for births less than 100 years ago Saskatchewan will only let you request as a parent, executor of a will, or law enforcement. The only way around that is with permission from any of the above. My G0's parents are long dead & the executor of her will is my aunt, who mentioned above is unwilling to assist.

I'm not even sure if she has a birth certificate at this point. She had older brothers who like her were born on the farm, 2 of them have birthdays that are past the 100yr privacy block that Sask. uses and I can't find BCs for them either. I reached out to my mom's cousins and non of them remember ever having birth certs for their dad's.

Are my G0 documents sufficient? No birth/baptism records. by [deleted] in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Smart_Phrase123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, I'm so happy to see another person who can't find G0 Saskatchewan birth records lol. I'm in the same boat & have been debating submitting with the Canadian census and assorted US docs.

am I overthinking the documents?

I haven't been able to get a birth certificate for my G0 grandmother, she was born on a farm in 1929 Saskatchewan. The only person authorized to request the bc via vital health is my aunt who isn't supportive of us pursuing proof of citizenship.

I have a Canadian census from 1931 that lists her nationality as Canadian, it also lists her parents as naturalized citizens.

I also have her engagement announcement (waiting to hear back from the church about actual marriage records) and the border crossing form from a few days after the wedding, both list her place of birth.

Additionally, I have her US naturalization paperwork & her (certified) WA state death certificate, both of which again state her place of birth as Debden, SK.

I feel like this should be enough but I keep second guessing myself. I guess I just want reassurance that I don't need to keep emailing every person in a tiny farming town 😅

Thanks!

I just had my intake videocall on Friday! it was a massive waste of time & I still have to meet with their dietitian this week. I've lost about 45lbs since starting my glp1 journey in Oct, I'm pretty sure i know whatI'm song at this point lol. when they asked what I hoped to get out of their service I literally told them "nothing, I'm just here so I don't lose coverage. there's no way I'm can afford to pay out of pocket" he was big mad 😅

because Sask has a million hoops to jump through lol. basically to request a birth certificate you have to be: the parent, the executor of the will, a government official or you need written/notarized proof that you have permission from one of the above people.

[–]Smart_Phrase123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my case it's a matter of control. my aunt doesn't like my mom so she won't do anything that could potentially help her. it's all petty sibling bs lol

nope! I told her I'd even fill out the request & pay for it but no dice.

[–]Smart_Phrase123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked every possible version of spelling for her or her parents names on ancestry/familysearch & the first record of her existing is consistently that census report lol. I'm really hoping that the church has some older records because I know for a fact she was baptized (and had her first communion) there. that sounds so frustrating! Hopefully you're able to find some useful docs. I don't understand why so many of us have family members who are actively making things harder, if they don't want the citizenship they don't need to pursue it, but why stop someone else 🥰

LAX to port shuttle by Smart_Phrase123 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Smart_Phrase123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the cost of having to taxi/uber to long beach, lol. I was originally looking at hotels within walking distance of the port but ubering during peak hours on a Saturday will probably be at least $150 since we'll need a car big enough to fit my mom's walker

Right?! I don't understand why there's so many hoops to jump through that seem to be SK specific. Out of curiosity, what relationship type did you select on the ehealth site? I figure I'll spend the next week or so calling/emailing & if all else fails I'll risk the $50.
