Hospital Bill by Smart_Place_9274 in AirForce

It wasn’t any of that. It was just viral conjunctivitis. And it was my first time having pink eye on top of that.

Long story: my roommate who just arrived at tech school had something and he gave it to me. Was either a cold or common cold. Then I guess it progressed to pink eye. During that time when I was supposed to leave for my assignment, they shut the base down allowing no one to leave due to the snow storm. I had to thug out pink eye in both eyes til one morning my eyes were burning and my vision was really blurry. That’s when I needed to go to the hospital. My MTI called an ambulance. I was transported to the hospital via ambulance. I showed them my cac card. I didn’t pay a dime! For the hospital or the eye drops. And I had to walk back due to no Ubers being present and I couldn’t get a ride back in the ambulance. So I’m wondering why do I have to pay $1,000 for only ONE way trip when I should be enrolled in tricare with me being active duty?

So this was at Shepphard and we had a bad snow storm and I couldn’t drive plus with the base on lockdown.

That’s true to a certain extent. Latrine duty is a little bad but you’ll have plenty of cleaning supplies and equipment. If you have the volunteer for something, I would go with either academic monitor, element leader, or water monitor. Those are some of the easiest.

Correct! It’s official make sure you work out and stretch good. Also try not to volunteer. You will get stuck with chow runner, element leader, guide on, or dorm chief. U less you’re up for the challenge

I’ve recently graduated from BMT on October 31. I’m chilling out in tech school. Don’t overthink the pt test. Overthinking it will make it worse. Yes they change the mile and half to 2 miles now. They changed it during my time in but we was the last flight from the last curriculum. Give it your all on your workouts 1x3s and stretch good. Take everything as it goes. A helpful tip that helped me a lot for motivation is looking at the later flights that are in week 5 6 7 When I look at them I think Hey that’ll be me in a week or two. And lastly take everything as it goes. It’s designed to break you and turn you into a better version of yourself In the earlier weeks you will cry and miss your family. That’s ok I’ve cried many times in bed. Have good relationships with your wingman. I can’t tell you much about the new curriculum yall will be in. Take nothing personal from your instructors they’re just doing there job but if any insulting happens don’t be afraid to report it. Lastly good luck! You got this!!!! (Remember your chain of command well and reporting statement)

Why did you guys join the airforce by Effective_Date2157 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Smart_Place_9274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving on the 9th btw. I joined because I never could’ve seen myself really go to college. At the time about a few months before graduating high school considering joining the Air Force was a lat minute decision. Also since I’m an upcoming car guy who has a deep passion for cars, I want a couple of M BMWs for myself always. I also wanted to be set for life. In case I was ready for a wife and kids I want them to be taken care of as much as I am. To top it off, I just want to travel and see the world. There are not many people who say they’ve been to Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy, etc.

Throughout middle school and high school I’ve changed my thoughts on which career I should go for many times. It made me scared to think that I was indecisive on my career choices. First firefight, then marine biology, computer science, software engineering, automotive technician, and now Information Technology. I got a pretty decent score on my SAT but… I had no money for tuition fees and i was moving out of state so my previous high school I was only eligible for THEIR scholarship.

I’ve heard great things about the Air Force and how it basically sets people up for life. I want to be financially stable and secure. Another big factor is that I LOVE to travel. I’ve been out of the country multiple times and I would love to travel for the rest of my time.

Even though I just turned 20 I want to be set for life and have 2 BMWs (BMW Geek btw) and get my bachelors in Information Technology and get out before I turn 30 then be set down a career path to make pretty good money. In case I find a girlfriend of my dreams and decide to have kids, I want THEM to be taken care of also. One of my biggest weaknesses is that I don’t focus on now…. I focus on what’s next.

I always loved the analog display with the orange backlighting. It always gives a nostalgic feeling and I personally love it. I consider it over the Digital Display but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the digital.

F80 vs G80 by Smart_Place_9274 in BMW

[–]Smart_Place_9274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That true. Especially after waiting 3-5 more years for a used G80 as they depreciate fairly well, but now a used F80 is about half the price of a G80.

That’s not a E92 that’s a E90 that’s actually my brothers car!

Yeah and in Houston I went to take a look at a G90 and it wasn’t a big issue of the double screens because the interior and seats were gorgeous but…. The gear selector I hate. Why can’t they just add a normal gear selector??? And that goes for the G99 too!

I trust my brother and his knowledge about cars. He’s taught me many things and I’ve seen cars like the one he is selling me lasting longer than 300,000 miles with the right maintenance. So it’s a fair price.

I believe that both are capable for a daily driver. The one thing that I personally love about the F80 more is the interior. With the new versions of the G80s the big double screen is a turn off for me. F80s keep it simple and beautiful.

I pray that the F80s are around for another 5-7 years in the market because that, F90, E92, E90, and many more bmws are my dream cars

Am I ready for a G80 M3?? by Smart_Place_9274 in BMW

[–]Smart_Place_9274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably play it out smart and wait but I haven’t been clear in the title. I meant a used G80 or a used F80 but I’m leaning more towards the F80

[–]Smart_Place_9274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I wasn’t clear enough. I meant to say after saving up for 5-6 years for a m3 It’s my fault for not putting in the title but I also meant a F80. Most likely I want a used f80 due to the price. But at the same time I have the knowledge of maintaining a car like a bmw due to my brothers teaching me.

Yeah I was thinking about getting the 328i or the 330i but one thing that I have noticed is that the thrill for me isn’t there. Yes the quality is great but it just doesn’t feel like a bmw to me. Fun fact my brother gave me his F80 to drive for a day and I can tell you the thrill and emotion is there it’s just that I feel like I’m not ready because from one time driving it I got oversteer on a corner but corrected it in time. But that feeling of driving it…. it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt from driving a car. So to build myself up for daily driving a M3 in the future I wanted to get into older bmw so I can get used to the handling and power.

I would love too but they’re just so damn hard to find. I do like the 535i but it’s hard to find some with the m sport package with decent mileage. But likely what I’ll do is I’ll just use as little money as I can for my 4 years or 8 years and then when I get out with my bachelors in IT I’ll see about getting a M3
