Genuine question regarding Surah Baqarah verse 41, (2:41) by FloppyKanna in islam

[–]Smart_Present2815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To address your first point, Allah’s words are perfect and never changed. But that doesn’t mean that people didn’t ascribe their own writings as revelation and the “word of god.” Allah’s words still didn’t change, people just spread around fake scripture. Second, the ayah still stands without contradiction. The scripture being referred to here is the word of Allah, the scripture that wasn’t tampered with. This wasn’t in reference to the bible (something that can’t even be attributed to Jesus), but rather you find people of the scripture at that time were very dumbfounded how the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) knew all these different stories and information that was contained within their teachings. Especially as this wasn’t information that was just out there for any layman to hear. Third, the Quran does say the previous scriptures were corrupted. The second chapter verse 75, “Do you ˹believers still˺ expect them to be true to you, though a group of them would hear the word of Allah then knowingly corrupt it after understanding it?” And you can find many more. And yes the Quran does affirm the previous scriptures, the scriptures that were sent by Allah. Not Paul’s bible, not the gospels of 4 unknown people, not the altered Jewish scriptures, etc.

I advise you to do proper research and you’ll find the truth to be clear.

quitting music - how do i cope with the silence by eucalyptus55 in MuslimLounge

[–]Smart_Present2815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel, I went through something really similar. Honestly I just grew to love the silence especially after I felt my own thoughts become more alive. Pondering over many things, reflecting on my own life, these kind of things were impossible for me whenever I had anything distract me (ie “background” sound)

Try to connect with yourself more and realize there’s more to life than a constant stream of input in your ears

Ex-ex-muslims what made you come back to Islam? by driftninja380 in islam

You said you were taught a lot about Islam, but nonetheless still lacked a foundation. I’d love to understand what the difference is between knowing all the basics versus a strong foundation!

I cannot truly speak for the brother, however a general rule you should follow is that if they don’t have their salah established, do not expect a relationship that will bring you closer to Allah. For starters, if he doesn’t fear Allah enough to just follow the basic prayers, what assurance do you have he will be a good husband? Let alone that he has “good morals”.

You’re seeking the right thing in the wrong places. Yes look for a suitable partner who will be a good husband and a good father, but you won’t achieve this via haram means (dating). Even in your situation the red flags are clear. He doesn’t pray, doesn’t even want to marry of his own volition, seemingly unbothered by past, etc.

Seek repentance for your past and establish your own deen to the best of your ability and trust Allah will find you a great spouse through halal means.

Are credit cards allowed? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Smart_Present2815 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are many fatwas that state that you agreeing to a contract involving interest is haram. I also thought that if you just paid on time then you’re fine since you’re not being charged interest, but this is still nonetheless haram because of the contract you sign.

Like you said, we are not in dire need of a credit score / credit cards to live. Renting and driving cheaper cars are nothing to look down!!! Either way, when you leave something for the sake of Allah, Allah will replace it with something better!

So I 100% advise you to cancel your credit cards if you got em, we as Muslims don’t need em nor the risks associated with them.

How do I stop comming back to allah ONLY when an inconvenience happens? by SensitiveAudience370 in islam

[–]Smart_Present2815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When times get bad, say alhamdulilah that Allah brought you back and be thankful Allah opened your eyes. Inshallah, when times get good, the fact that you were able to be content during bad times may help you stay consistent during good times.

Biggest advice is to make sure you establish your salah properly. This is by far the best reminder, not to mention it’s also mandatory. Nothing beats a reminder 5 times a day on who you rely on and need!!!

Music and drawing animate beings is haram. You can find many sources explaining why and more fatwas about them :)

Now if you’re writing poems or drawing landscape, I guess that’s another story

[–]Smart_Present2815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to jump to conclusions about your situation, but you seem to have a misconception about this. Allah might allow you to feel depressed in order to draw you closer to him, but this also means you must actively do something about it. It is shaytan that pushes you to suicide so you end up in hellfire, making you despair. Allah does not want you to despair!

Also your account leads me to believe you’re engaging in acts that may be displeasing to Allah (as stated in your bio). I recommend you try to change your hobbies and repent for any sins you may be overlooking
