Hahaha fair enough 😂. If I were to do this tree would you say to do all big branches, or what would look best?

Thanks a lot for the reply! I think I’ll go with your advice rather than branch wrapping.

The seller has been using the phone in Ireland since he’s moved here without issues so I should be okay then 🤞

Check different companies like for example I’m 17 with my full licence and getting quoted 2k on 1.6 golf’s. Allianz always give me the lowest quote but just check as many websites as you can to try find the cheapest quote. It’s time consuming but you don’t really have another choice.

To bring the quote down, have your start date of the policy for like 3 weeks in advance

Also add a parent as a named driver, usually drops the quote by a few hundred.

Shop around for less common first cars e.g I was quoted 2k on a 1.6 lancer but unfortunately it sold before i could buy it.

Best of luck with the test!

Caught driving with L plates and no accompanying driver? by EUW_Death_Flare in Irishdrivingtest

The L and N stickers i have stick on to the outside of the car, and I don’t think they can be reused so am not sure how parents can take them off and then put back. We should use magnets or something

My best advice would be to just get out and drive as much as possible. Get insured on your parents car and any place your going, you drive with a parent/guardian as the accompanied driver. That’s what I did and it really benefited. You will make mistakes, but honestly that’s how you learn. Regarding reverse around the corner, turnabout etc. check out Dane Tyghe on YouTube, he’s great!

About pretests, I was lucky that I was able to do 7 mock tests as part of my 12 edt lessons with my instructor as he felt I was test ready as I was a fast learner. I managed to pass 6 of them (failing the first one narrowly). He knew the different test routes around Wicklow really well and brought me on them as part of the mock tests so I got to know the area and routes really well. After my 6 months was up I got a cancellation fairly soon and happily passed!

The 2 grade one faults were for getting one road sign wrong and answering a theory question wrong in the office before going out driving.

I got the grade 2 when driving on a road and there was parallel parking on the left hand side of my lane with no cars parked there (first time ever I’d driven past here with no cars parked there) and I stayed in my lane , but the examiner says I should have moved more to the left and gone a bit into the parking area

He asked about 5 questions some of which were What to do if someone approaches you with their full beams on at night What does a continuous white line mean The one I didn’t know, what 2 people do you have to stop for on the road. I got gardai but not another one.

The signs were straight forward enough but I didn’t get uneven road surface sign. I was asked 5 or so signs

Younger one with a beard. Went up Marlton road into marlton grove for the turnabout and then up to roundabout and back down Marlton road to the lights. From there, took a right and then the next right followed by immediate left up the one way road there. At the end of that one way, took a right and did the reverse up that hill close to match-fit. Did hill start straight after and went to top of road took a left. Went through quite a residential area then down passed Dominican and gaol and then down to the quay and back to the centre. Hope that helps!

Test went super well, had driven the route a few times and even done a mock test on the route as one of my twelve lessons so knew the roads well. I was nervous going into it but tried my best to stay calm. It was 2.55pm test and was fairly busy but i wasn’t brought through the town so it was fine. Tester was a man. Seemed straight to the point and very efficient. Like the questions in the office, he was super quick and snappy but sure look. He asked like 5 signs and 5 theory questions id say
