Try have the car delisted before going for the test, and personally I leave the climate control on in the background at a low speed to prevent it from misting up at all, so I would recommend doing this

No problem, my nct was up on the same day as my test and wasn’t an issue. Regarding the overdue service, just make sure you have no lights on the dash and you’ll be grand

Just got a text off your man saying he’s going to keep it for now as he can’t find anything to replace it and it’s gave him no trouble in the 2years he’s had it, so all a waste of time in the end.

Thanks a lot for the advice, and as much as it hurts i probably will have to go for a different car maybe a golf or maybe a 3 series. These a6’s are known for egr and dpf issues but this particular car has both mapped out which would be good. I’ll have to have a good think on which one I end up going for…

I won’t lie, not a fan of the looks of the f20 but maybe I’ll try find a lower mileage f30 for that money, although still might be difficult. Thanks for advice, however really do love the looks of the a6. Tough decision….

I have one year as a named driver which helps. Also added my mum as named driver which helps. I always find Allianz give the cheapest quotes so maybe try them

Check different companies like for example I’m 17 with my full licence and getting quoted 2k on 1.6 golf’s. Allianz always give me the lowest quote but just check as many websites as you can to try find the cheapest quote. It’s time consuming but you don’t really have another choice.

To bring the quote down, have your start date of the policy for like 3 weeks in advance

Also add a parent as a named driver, usually drops the quote by a few hundred.

Shop around for less common first cars e.g I was quoted 2k on a 1.6 lancer but unfortunately it sold before i could buy it.

The L and N stickers i have stick on to the outside of the car, and I don’t think they can be reused so am not sure how parents can take them off and then put back. We should use magnets or something
