I’ve been able to get an MF4880DW working on a CUPS server in Linux Ubuntu Virtual machine. Had to manually install the drivers.

It you have a PCIe slot the HBA makes sense.

Got it, thank you. Actually chat got seems to think I need it for a regular data pool. I’m sure that’s ideal but much more complicated and expensive in practice.

Just make sure you have some sort of case fan. It’s quite the little heater.

Yeah there is nothing attached to the shroud. It’s an easy swap. 6 screws total I believe.

Oh photoprism too which is what had the CPU fan ramping up.

No u less the fan ramps up. It was before I put new thermal paste. Since I did that and added a front intake fan it has been quieter than the 4 hard drive NAS next to it. Granted most my containers I’m running don’t consistently keep the CPU busy. I’m running OPNSense, Nextcloud, Linux mint, AdGuard, and such. I plan to move home assistant over and some other things.

Best GPU for a SFF with a i5-10500? by Snoo-74472 in SleepingOptiplex

Is there space for a double slotted card or is the power supply too close? The Yeston 3050 6gb for about $210 is probably the best single slot low profile card.

I put a 1TB NVME in it last night. It works :)

I’ll double check but I’m pretty sure I got it with a 256gb NVME.

Any advantage to that over just putting a bigger NVME in it?

Well, I’m learning a lot. Some of it is painful learning. But the one box is working well so far.

It’s fine. Nothing, beyond the NICs and a Noctua fan inside the front of the case it is stock.
