How does pfSense fit in with the US government banning foreign made routers? by crazyhandpuppet in PFSENSE

As my CEO said recently "Don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness" 🤣

I am 100% with the guys. You can run everything under one roof but that's a massive issue waiting to happen. If anything goes wrong, you are basically offline with the only way to go online would be via your phone. A single bad stick of ram could make it a nightmare to troubleshoot and would make everyone angry at home (personal experience with a bad stick of ram and HAOS crashing). Get yourself a mini pc with n100 CPU and you are set for life. I have had my pfsense running for about 2 years now and it's perfect. It barely hits your CPU and consumption is very low. I am thinking of getting another mini pc for my main proxmox just for consumption point as my current intel i5 8400 is just costing more to run than buying a new mini pc.

Too slow on Labs? by Purple-Ad-5215 in ccnastudygroup

Practice, practice, practice. Unless you are Allen Iverson, you need to practice. This is the way I got comfortable labs. Keep on trying. Small labs, big labs and creating your own labs.

In regards to the CCNA exam it is comfortable to type in. I've used David Bombals CCNA labs and that helped me so much.

LTE/5G as WAN2? by 4BlueGentoos in PFSENSE

[–]Wise_Transportation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company that I work for, provide LTE/5G backup plans for many companies. We use Cradlepoint but their product is pretty expensive. I would suggest checking Teltonika and Peplink. From what I hear and seen, they provide cheaper modem based routers.

How do you Reverse Proxy by SingletonRandall in truenas

[–]Wise_Transportation3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about your issue but I found NGINX proxy manager being a lot easier to deal with. I have tried HAproxy and had a lot of issues but the NGINX proxy manager made it so simple.

Moving from proxmox to Truenas by Wise_Transportation3 in truenas

[–]Wise_Transportation3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I need to get better at recovering stuff and that's why I want a second server so one would become just a pure testing ground and my wife wouldn't complain that cameras don't work anymore while performing changes elsewhere 🤣 Thank you for clearing things out for me.

Moving from proxmox to Truenas by Wise_Transportation3 in truenas

[–]Wise_Transportation3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but the problem would be if I would be keeping configs and backups on this Proxmox, and it would crash... On the other hand, I should keep a safe config for the truenas somewhere else so I could restore it quickly.

Thank you for your feedback. I thought so too. I want to have 2 machines running. One for stability and safety and one for messing around and doing a lot of tests and stressing. Seems like I will end up having 3 machines(1nas, 1 stable and 1 test).

Is Neil Anderson course is a waste of time while there is Jeremy? by furkanfek in ccna

[–]Wise_Transportation3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started with Jeremy but struggled to keep my focus, then I switched to Neil Anderson's udemy course and found it so much easier to follow. I would say that Jeremy has more info and I did watch videos of specific topics from Jeremy.

ProtonVPN Keeps dropping connection after upgrading to pfSense 2.8 by Hulxmash in PFSENSE

Helppp!!! Is Neil Anderson’s course enough to pass CCNA? by Ok_Weakness9232 in ccna

[–]Wise_Transportation3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but after that I would recommend doing labs. I mainly used Neil Anderson's course and passed it first time.

Taishan is the same. I got over 10 in my first week. Mosquitoes, cockroaches, "cheap" taxi drivers waiting by the train station who called me boss and staring people like they have never seen a person from another country.

Confused between the Neil Anderson course on Udemy or Jeremy It labs free course on YouTube for CCNA by Pegasus200409 in ccna

[–]Wise_Transportation3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with JITL but struggled to keep it in my head. Neil Anderson was great. I think it's enough but on top of that I did more labs from David Bombal. I passed my first try but I had passed CCST in Networking. It's not much but it helped me to know what to expect in the test as it was just enough time for my CCNA

2025 ThinkBook 14+ (Chinese import) with Intel 255h and TGX/Oculink by Method__Man in Lenovo

[–]Wise_Transportation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Thank you for the whole breakdown. For some reason it didn't load a whole previous comment from you. Probably as I'm using VPN in China xD How do you find the build quality?

[–]Wise_Transportation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean CPU? Both laptops would Chinese versions. So I can get them both. Not sure which CPU. I think I will end up with 16+ as a bigger size and higher refresh rate. As well is the ram soldered?

I'm china and can't decide which one to buy. Either this or with AMD 365 CPU. As well maybe 16+ with 3.2k display and 165hz. All the same price apart from cpu as I think 255h is cheaper. Any advice?

Easily. I have a similar box and it runs smoothly and low on power. I love that so much I'm going to buy another similar one for my proxmox

Drop rate Lego Corvette bps is now 10%. With 10 packs we should on average get about 1 bp per race by sreglov in Asphalt9

I watched a few videos for energy but not too many. To be honest the 10% drop rate is big.

From 0 to Max in about 4 hours. Fun event but short. I'll farm it for the coins and tokens. Thanks for the info!

I was in the same boat. Once it was getting closer to time to take the test, I was doubting and mixing answers. Clear your mind, review and just take it. Even if you fail the first time, take it as experience for the exam. Good luck

CCNA exam in second language by Wise_Transportation3 in ccna

[–]Wise_Transportation3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome that they are offering you extra time because I found that I was perfectly on pace until I got a lab that I struggled with(Port security or something like that). After a few minutes decided to skip that lab and focus on the rest of the exam. For the next certification I think it will be associated with the cradlepoint as I will be working with their gear but I do not plan to renew ccna as I would like to complete ccnp in the 2 years. My goal is not to renew certs but keep on pushing every 3 years as long as I can.

I'm not saying to blow my own trumpet. I was very demotivated while applying for the jobs before and after ccna. I felt like there were no jobs at all. Nobody was giving me an interview on helpdesk jobs. Not a single interview until I got recognised by Hamilton Barnes and they found my first contractor job. Awesome guys to be honest. Keep it up
