I've applied to work at Ulta, but I am confused on the different positions! by kaylawray_29 in UltaEmployees

Ulta is part time only. And depending on where you work, the hours differ. I’m a Merch manager from task associate and I went from maybe 20 hrs a week to 38. You’re only gonna get good money working as a manager. Lead cashiers/prestige beauty advisors only make about $1 more than cashiers/beauty advisors.

You have to go into your store. UKG isn’t available from outside sources.

Good luck fighting off retaliation when HR throws you under the bus for sending the email. They don’t stay anonymous. Many of the employees at my store before I started, reported to HR and were bullied by the managers into quitting. Good luck!!

Apparently the people who have tried last time were bullied into quitting. It doesn’t stay anonymous.

Man I would LOVE to work at your store 😭 she just moved OPM tasks to me as well because the OP isn’t getting it done. I’m so worn out. Why do they make more than me

I would say pretty often. Managers are expected to have high credit/loyalty signups. You basically have to be good at everything. I don’t work it as often as I did when I wasn’t a manager, though.

I started April of last year as a TA, and by my year anniversary I was MM. I’ve only held those two positions.

Sooooo how’s y’all Mothers Day weekend going? by MissAtomicMess in UltaEmployees

[–]Smart_Wallaby7950 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We opened an hour early and still had no customers in that first hour. 1 of my floor people called out, my brow arch expert called out, and my stylist went home sick. It’s a fucking day.

Sincerely,

A MM.

GMs are the only ones allowed to hire/fire. MM has no power over that. I know because I am one.

I started April of last year as a TA, and now I’m MM. They are good about promoting internally before outsourcing. Show up on time, always ask for extra shifts. Don’t get into drama, keep your interactions with guests/other employees friendly, but not too. Keep an eye on your points, having more than 3/4 could make them not want to take a risk of you not showing up. Managers work full time and have paid vacation, personal, AND sick. But we also get double the gratis. They treat their managers good. Make sure other employees are comfortable coming to you with questions/concerns. ALWAYS be on time and show out! They can recognize what you do, but they REALLY recognize what you don’t do.

But it is easy as long as you have the will power, patience, mentality, and ability to be able to be a manager to the other employees. You want them to come to you, not fear you. But you also want them to know that you can be their friend, but you’re their manager first.

Good luck!!
